I tried searching but didn’t find any info. Has anyone on here tuned their 992 S with APR ecu tune. Gains look impressive. It is via OBD port. I did this to my m3 from BM3 and it changed the car so much faster it’s amazing.

Are you sure they have an OBDII tuner for the 992? Their website makes it look like you need to swap out the ECU for their tuned unit (which would mean you can't revert to stock when needed)? I'd looked and still dream about the Cobb Accessport for my turbo, but (a) the car is ridiculously fast already, and (b) I don't want to void the warranty. Maybe in a few years though. But, either way, without doubt you can add a TON of power to that 3 liter turbo motor with a good tune.

992 Turbo S you mean? What about the normal 992 S?

Site stated no ECU removal. See in the bottoms of the link or screen shot.

Apr plus keeps factory warranty 530hp 506lb tq. Stage 1 is higher. This if for C2S

Thanks. Their catalog must not have the very latest. The only thing I could find was ECU swaps. Why do you say this preserves the factory warranty? My dealer told me flat out that ANY tune would create factory warranty issues....?

It doesn’t preserve factory warranty but APR states they will cover during the remainder of factory warranty period if something was to go wrong.

“Optional factory term limit matching limited powertrain warranty with APR Plus”

It cost more it seems.

Also just read further on their site that an APR dealer has to do the tune. Not something like COBB accessport you referred to earlier…

Ah ok, got it. I remember Dinan and a few others used to offer a warranty match like that. Better than having not warranty for sure, but I always wonder about a company's wherewithal to back that up. Either way, it does look like they extract a lot of power. :) Maybe when my warranty runs out, their will be a few OBDII-based tunes for my car -- cuz, you know, 640hp isn't enough.... If you pull the trigger, we'd love to hear how it feels post-tune!

I can say that APR has done their research and testing on the 991.2 platform and I am sure they have done the same for the 992 platform. I have a cobb protune for my 991.2-I like the APR but I like the ease of changing maps with my accessport better. Keep in mind with APR you have to go to an authorized dealer to flash, return to stock, etc which most charge a fee for each time. Imagine you have to take the car to the dealer for service, recall or warranty work and you have an APR tune installed. Now you have to go back to the APR dealer, pay for them to revert back to stock-then visit the dealer. After its done, you have to go back to the APR dealer again and pay for them to reinstall the APR tune. That is what is keeping many people away from it.

I’ll pile on one more recommendation. Have you looked into Softronic? Scott (owner) has been tuning Porsches for many years. One call to him and you might be sold. It’s a complete DIY installation that is easy enough for a novice DIYer like myself. Delivers a heck of a boost in performance (~100 additional hp) which like the Cobb mentioned above is easy removable with a quick flash in the comfort of your own home.
