hey tom, so based on your update to the first post, the 991.1 still requires different specs than others? are there any additional measurements i can take off my .1 to help figure out a way for you to make one spec that fits all 991's maybe?

Thanks, but I think we're good. I was mistaken about your measurements. When I went back and looked at my notes, your car is the same as the other early 991 I did plates for. Since you are only the second person (ever) to ask for 991.1 plates, I am just going to print the model I used for the other one and call it a day. Your timing is a little uncanny though. Your first mount just started on my printer (see factory floor pic below) when you posted this...

Happy to report all mounts requested to date (shown in the first post of this thread) have been shipped! Still eager to pull in the 718 crowd and make them proper license plate mounts, so please continue to spread the word. :) You've been awesome so far -- keep up the great work! The $30/set offer is good until the end of the month, but I reserve the right to lower that for those who help build up the community through posts, referrals, etc. :)

If helpful, this link takes folks directly to this thread....

This board is keeping both my 3D printers humming. If you have any interest in seeing another carpokes 3D-printing project, check out this thread:

For that one, I used a Formlabs resin printer, which can print layers are fine as 1/40th of a mm! In contrast, the license plate mounts are done on a traditional FDM (squirting melted plastic) at about 1/3rd of a mm per layer...

Thank you for these very well made license plate mounts! You've done a great job of calibrating your printer and getting those brass inserts in.

These are a rare deal free of the normal Porsche tax. Now I just have to get my GT4 out of the factory and into my garage to install these. It was still on the production line when the factory went on vacation so it shouldn't be too much longer now - speaking in relativistic Porsche-waiting terms of course.

Glad you like them and thanks for the kind words. The very best way to thank me is to get a friend or two to sign up for carpokes. :) Waiting for a new Porsche can seem endless, but very much worth the wait. Hang in there!

I do track events, and your solution is genius! What was Porsche thinking? Now I just need to keep the dealer from screwing in the license plate before I pick up the car! :-)

I'd actually like to order two (2) sets of your mounts; one for me, one for a friend with a 718 Cayman. My car is GT Silver, his car is Gentian Blue. (I think two sets of black mounts will look fine, since you can't see the mounts when the license plate is installed....but I'll defer to your judgement.)

PM Sent!
Would you by any chance have a picture of the blue mounts on the Gentian blue car? It would be helpful to see how well they go together for future Gentian owners.... :)
