Are you having any ppf, ceramic coating, or window tint applied? Hopefully, can all be taken care of while you are away. That way you can fully enjoy immediately upon your return.
I've scheduled mine in starting on June 20th. It's really going to be difficult not being able to drive the car for a week or two so soon after taking delivery.
With the Taycan I had it done locally once I got the car. The dealer had to pay for a local paint correction due to the scratches in the clear coat from the delivery driver sliding past the rear fender repeatedly. He also climbed in with his dirty boots through the window of the car on to the unprotected chalk leather seats. Thankfully the marks came off.
Not sure what to do with the GTS. I no longer trust the delivery company to not mess up the bucket seats getting in and out of the car. I can drive it back from Chicago to Charleston but that means having the PPF and ceramic coating done in Chicago (hard to go back for any corrections) and also putting miles on the car (it does need to be run in though before I bring it to the track though).
Maybe I just need a better transportation company. This was the one the dealer uses regularly.
Looks like we're having a slight delay with the Siem Aristotle getting to Halifax. Seems to be anchored off the coast at the moment waiting to go into port.
Sounds like you do need a better transportation company. I have two that I have used and would recommend. Both were excellent with no issues at all - pm me for details.
In addition to Tom's recommendation, I use these seat covers from Amazon for transportation and sometimes for service which are fairly inexpensive and do a good job.
The Siem Aristotle is early and anchored outside the harbor. According to the VW PWL schedule she is due to dock at Halifax tomorrow, May 24th. I just noticed that she is scheduled to dock at 8:30am tomorrow, right on time. There is still hope - fingers crossed for you.
