Placed both up against the gauge faces and it was fairly clear the darker of the two rings was the best match for Racing Yellow. My guess is I would never have noticed had I not paired them up against a gauge face, as both shades of yellow were close enough to match the stitching with no real detectable difference (YMMV), including in pictures.Treemagnet wrote: Wed Jun 15, 2022 6:22 pmWasn't sure why I received two...now I know. This is totally amazing and I'm incredibly grateful for your generosity. It's too dark to detect any difference at this point in time, so I'll compare them both tomorrow in direct sunlight and advise.Tom wrote: Wed Jun 15, 2022 4:19 pm Looks great (if I do say so myself).I sent you two to demonstrate how close that Rustoleum is to true Racing Yellow. But in all honestly, after painting a bunch of them in both paints, I lost track of which was which and couldn't tell the difference. I 'think' you have one of each, but I wasn't 100% sure.

Thanks again Tom, you are a saint!
Very well done...many, many thanks Tom!

That was my thinking too. I may study the sheen/gloss on the two and gravitate toward the one that looks smoother and more OEM on the top. In addition to color, I obsess on the finish too

Tom, your generosity and Carpokes will be the first two things I'll mention when I show off the interior of our car. Wasn't sure the dial would be that noticeable, but it's impact is far greater than expected and significantly upgrades our interior. Seriously, my wife who has never been a real car person, keeps commenting on how much she loves the addition.Tom wrote: Thu Jun 16, 2022 3:56 pmTreemagnet wrote: Thu Jun 16, 2022 3:33 pmPlaced both up against the gauge faces and it was fairly clear the darker of the two rings was the best match for Racing Yellow. I wonder why Porsche hadn't thought of doing this as another possible option....they could have reached deep into my wallet for this one. Thanks again for your ingenuity and out of the box thinking!

Full disclosure - I got the idea about changing the knob color after seeing a photo of the TechArt steering wheel. Unfortunately, the TechArt knob is only available as part of their $3,000 wheel. How Tom was able to fabricate an OEM looking knob cover, that fits perfectly, is engineering genius. My car salesman could not believe that it wasn’t a Porsche option.Treemagnet wrote: Fri Jun 17, 2022 5:59 amTom, your generosity and Carpokes will be the first two things I'll mention when I show off the interior of our car. The red dot kit for the center of the mode dial came with three (3) red dots...I have 2 left. I will mail to the first two folks that want one. Just send me your address and I'll send them off.

Thought I'd share a family photo before these are sent all over on Tuesday. They will go out in order of post count, more or less.
