Speculation is that the technology from the potent 919 Hybrid race car has been adapted for use in the 992.2 Hybrid together with the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six as the Carrera. It is expected to arrive in the second half of this year with the update of the 992 generation.

Ironic that I was watching the video on how the 911 is made, and the VP of production said that there won't be an electric 911 as long as he is in charge. Either he is not anymore, or he changed his mind. I figured that the 911 will go through 2 more phases before an all electric or hybrid model would come along.

I do NOT care for the Fog Lights some of the 992+ prototypes like the one in this video are sporting. As far as a hybrid 911 goes, I'd be very interested in that.

The new Panorama (issue #782) stated that the 718 would be the first hybrid/electric (modified) platform. The 911 will come later.

I don't see me ever buying one. I like to hear the engine and need a longer range.

I'm sure before long electric cars will be going coast-to-coast on a single 9-volt battery... I joke (??) that I'll probably get too old to drive right around the time they stop selling gas-powered cars altogether. BTW, looking forward to see that '23 LW turbo s. The Turbo S in the pano ad is mine. (You've come to the right forum!) :)

I agree. I don't see the technology happening soon as to long distance batteries (several more years). Plus, the charging stations are few and far between when I travel to FL (south GA is large). I was coming back from FL this spring and stopped to buy gas at a Marathon Station. It also had four charging stations being used with seven more cars in line.

Excited to see how the powertrain feels. I'm sure it will be super fun to drive and fill in any of the empty spots in torque.
