So many reasons to choose one transmission over another and I think this is part of the reason this question comes up so often. If one questions resale the manual will win out since it will be the more unique, low volume transmission as the years go by. If you want to go quicker on track the PDK will win out as it is simply faster than the human arm and left leg. If age or maybe a bad left knee hip, or even amputation, a PDK makes a better choice. Yet, for one who wants the most tactile experience with his/her car the manual would logically win out. Such a short list , but one could go on and on and it is why when these discussions come up there are always strong points why one might be better for each driver. Since we are all different in so many ways I will not be judgmental because logical, rational thought says each person meeting their goals is correct in what they ultimately choose.

Had a 2914 Carrera S 7 speed manual loved the total engagement it gave me. Then my reverse shoulder replacement made it impossible to manually shift without pain. therefore my 2022 Carrera GTS is a PDK model. It is a blast to drive so I am and was totally satisfied with both of them! Sorry not much help on transmission type.

I do keep one manual car in the garage, a 2008 997 GT3RS. Pure analog, 6-speed, last car to come with no stability control, huge fun to drive but not forgiving. Still enjoyable.

However, I have some PDK cars and on track they are amazing.

In a way I think of the difference between fly-fishing and spin casting. There is huge skill in fly fishing and in the end it is not about catching the fish, but in the skill to catch the fish. Spin casting will have the same result but less involvement.

Neither is perfect, just different.
