Those black mirrors look great against the white paint! Glad you have it all fixed up Tom.

I'm not big into carbon fiber, but opted to do the mirrors in CF for that exact reason. Thanks all for the support. First world problems I know, but still.

Sorry about your string of bad luck. I'm glad to see you are back on the road now. The car looks stunning by the way.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about your experience Tom but I'm happy you were able to resolve things without spending too much money.

Unfortunately its part of the car ownership experience and at the end of the day... its still very much worth it having those awesome cars.

Someone bumped into my rear end recently when I was at a red light. Somehow got NO damage. So thankful. Everything got absorbed by the black plastic in the bumper.

Thanks guys -- that post was from September of last year. The dealer fixed me up with a new tire and fixed the road rash on the wheel, and I ended up opting to have the little scratches under the front corner winglette repaired at German Autobody in Santa Clara. This is the second time (on two different cars) they were able to spot blend/paint small little issues without painting the whole panel. I looked at the repair in every light and every angle, and you simply can't tell it was fixed. And they did it for 3 or 4 hundred dollars if memory serves. It's all a distant memory at this point. :)

Oh oups. It was at the top of the feed so I thought this was recent!

Still feel bad about it and happy it was resolved! :P

Glad all worked out.....re. dealerships in Bay Area, I had good luck with Porsche of Burlingame. Gary Brieno, Mgr???, and one of his staff met me and a prospective seller of used PCCB rotors on a Sunday. They took one look at them and said they were crap...saved me $6,000. They also did a PPI for me back in the day.

BTW the OP's Porsche is one of the prettiest Porsche cars I have ever seen. It should be on display somewhere...viewers would be issued bibs to catch their drool. Good God, what a beast. Its probable acquisition price is a reminder to me that I should have studied harder in math and science, and gone into IT. However, at that time, the main tools of science were a slide rule and a BCT #2. That's a Big Chief Tablet and a #2 pencil. Some of you Geezers will recall this tool. They are for sale again: https://www.amazon.com/Original-Big-Chi ... B0094ILCJC

I'm a big fan of Fremont Porsche. I was already sold on them after buying my 991, but when Cory came to my house on a weekend and drove around in the back seat for an hour with me to find a rattle, I was pretty much sold for life. Have heard good things about Burlingame too. I think we're lucky in the Bay Area to have several good choices. :) As for my car, thanks! It's the only brand new car I ever bought that wasn't some shade of red, but I always loved the 3.2 carreras and 944 Turbos in white, so thought I'd finally give it a try. No IT background here though. I went to De Anza community college with the sole intention of getting into their auto-tech program, since I couldn't afford those private WyoTech type schools. They made me take regular classes to stay on the list, and after a few years of waiting I eventually transferred to UC to become an accountant and then law school. I then worked 60 hour weeks for 20 years before getting lucky overnight. ;) Last I heard, my name is getting much closer to the top of that auto-tech program at De Anza. :silent: ;)
