I can heartily recommend the Speedster from Chicane Racing. They are built for all day comfort and maximum pedal feel. Check them out at www.chicaneracing.com

They look good - subtle and versatile - plus they look comfortable.

I picked up a pair of Chicanes at Rennsport and am extremely pleased with the feel and solid soles for driving a manual. Nice and narrow so work well when your pedals are close together as is the case with my 993. The shoes fit snug so not intended for long walks. Very reasonable price. My other go to driving shoes are Hunziker which also work well at a reasonable price.

I ordered a set of Puma Speedcats, tried several Puma stores and just could not find them in person anywhere. I had to order them online so I am hoping for the best regarding sizing.

Well Jeremy, as I mentioned to George regarding the Pilotis' he just bought, let us know if they fit, how you like them and, most importantly, if they are comfortable. Thanks for the link.

For track use, I have an old, well-used pair of plain black Alpinestars that I like plus a newer pair of Sabelt's race shoes that are basically still new. They're also just plain black. (There's a pattern here...)

But for casual driving and wear, a pair like the Piloti's or the Puma's look great and I need to consider something like them, especially considering that I still have some ancient, Precambrian casual Piloti's from the era before they ceased business which was prior to their rather recent comeback. They're in horrid shape - probably not fit to wear in public but it doesn't matter. (I don't know why I haven't ditched them. I must like 'em or it's just sentimentality.)

The Pilotis worked as desired during my mountain driving last week. Definitely worth it for me. I'm not a big fan of closed toe shoes for everyday use. I am going to try and find some decent narrow sandals for that. So I'm happy with the Pilotis.

Puma Redon Move Sneakers are a great driving shoe that are easy to slip on and off since they just have a velcro strap. My son and I use them for autocrossing as they are both narrow and have a very flat bottom. You can get them " On Sale " at Amazon in white or black, currently. They do run about one size small ( i.e. if you wear a 10 you might want a 10.5 ), so keep that in mind.

This past weekend was my first event with the Puma Speedcat shoes. They are light and flexible giving great feel of the pedals. They also had all day wear comfort. Initially they just felt like shoes and I was not sure I noticed the difference over my baseline of Vans shoes. On my three hour drive home I put the Vans back on and that is when I noticed the difference. The Pumas are far superior for pedal feel and control.
