Hi Kitw and welcome aboard here at Carpokes. Tell your friends, post links (where ok) and help spread the word.

This will be the default place for Track Nanny support and user feedback from tracks, etc., and hopefully a lot more.
If you need the Track Nanny to work on the 718 Spyder, we recently got that all sorted out. The harness is completely different for the 718 (and GT2/992), but the Track Nanny box works on all models. So, if you wanted, we could always make up a harness you could install in the 718, and then use one of your existing Track Nanny boxes with it when driving the 718. Installing it on a 718 Spyder is a bit of a pain, since the connector is buried under some plumbing. If you want to avoid that, I worked with the guys at SP Motorsports in Hayward to get the first one installed in a 718 Spyder, and I suspect they can do it in their sleep now.
Tom, would you happen to have any pictures of the Track Nanny installed? Curious to see how folks have routed the wiring for the GPS and control unit. Currently have a Cargraphics for the 718 GT4 that I’m about to install but may want to hold off and evaluate the Track Nanny unit.
Let me see what I can dig up. @Crazy Eddie or @mfschacht or some of the folks in this thread may have pictures to share, though I'm not sure there is anyone here with the Track Nanny on a 718 GT4 yet. It's on a couple 718 Spyders and lots of 981 GT4's, but there's only one 718 GT4 I know of and it was installed by a race shop so I don't have pictures. The hardest part of installing on a 718 (y far) is getting to the exhaust flap solenoid, since it's pretty car down there with such a little 'hood' to open. But that part of the job is going to be the same with either system. As far as I know, the Cargraphics system has no GPS control (and the Track Nanny does not have a wireless remote). If either of those are a must-have, then the decision should be easy.
By the way, there's only one harness going from the engine to the cabin with the Track Nanny. The GPS receiver and all electronics are inside that one box. You can hook up the antenna if you need a stronger signal, but it's rarely necessary if the Track Nanny isn't totally buried under metal somewhere. I put them on the passenger seat when I test them for example, and never have an issue getting a good GPS fix.
Here are a few pictures I shot back in the day ... 4 +yrs ago on my 981 GT4
Let me know if you have any questions I can answer
Best regards
Ed

Just to clarify, does this box require the additional installation of a valve controller? Wasn’t sure if you or Ed had mentioned that.
Does installation require any wire cutting?
Hey Dan
None in my case ....
See the picts I just posted ... hope that helps answer your question ... The 718 might be different ?? Tom would know that
Best

Just buy a Track Nanny, especially if you plan on running Laguna Seca. They are getting more strict. The only exception, a 105 db day,
Somewhat rare and more expensive.

I dont suggest drilling any holes, plenty available... likewise, the rear fuse panel can also be tapped safely on the 991 chassis.

Spent the afternoon at my friend's race shop: The Racer's Line in Concord and we managed to use the sound tube for something more useful on my 718 GT4. Loud mode with the Akra oof deletes sound amazing! Can't wait to try these on Laguna for the PCA DE day.

That was fast! Love the creative installation! I had a 'sound tube' in my 991-- glad to see one finally put to good use! Did you play with the user programming at all?

Had my track day yesterday with Diablo PCA with great success even with my Akrapovic opf deletes, I was able to be flat on the throttle past turn 5 and past the sound station with the track Nanny! Upshifting, lifting the throttle or meatball/black flags are now days of the past with track nanny!
I programmed the gps location and set it back to XL and see to get less funny looks while driving into my cul-de-sac so seems like that's working well too.
@Tom thanks for the great tool you provide for us track drivers!

Awesome! Thanks for posting this. It helps to confirm that nothing has changed at LS and that the Track Nanny does the trick on a 718GT4. I've had a few other 718GT4 guys install these, but I never heard from them again, so very happy to have you confirm all went well. 718GT4 must have more headroom than the 981GT4, as the 981 is
juuuust under the limit with Track Nanny, so unlikely to get past the meter with any mods to the exhaust. Love that you are using it in the cul-de-sac too. I've had quite a few people use their Track Nanny in places where they need to be quiet -- some have even ordered them with their gated community as the home/star location.
