I'd venture to say CARPOKES has already become a live handbook in many respects.
I've been (old fashion) printing pages and making notes to myself whenever I see something I think I'll need. With all the new members coming into the transaxle threads, CARPOKES appears to have become the go to location for questions/info.
A true handbook is a daunting task which is beyond my skillset but its a great idea for the 944 World.
Knock on wood, but I figure time is on our side in terms of the daunting task. If the Handbook grows by 1 or 3 high-quality additions per month, it will be huge before we know it. :)

I'm experimenting with formats that give the core tech/testing info at a glace -- so that you don't have to download PDFs or hunt through threads, etc. --unless you need that level of help. It's kind of a modernized version of Clarks but in a format that's a bit easier on the eyes and doubles down on distilling things to the essence. I may look for some way to un-pdf the pdf's too, but if this approach resonates, it would allow me to get a lot of quick guides out there pretty quickly...

This is great! I just got a turbo that needs the oil cooler housing resealed and potentially a new head gasket. Nicely done tutorials!

Looks similar to what google does with the AI summary of a search. All the major points in bold with details deeper in if wanted/needed. Quick and easy. I like it a lot!

Thanks for the feedback -- that's exactly the idea. The pdf's I do are pretty easy to access and get to the point, but I thought cheat sheets you could easily access while lying on a creeper might better serve a lot of people. Can't tell you how many times I've had to sit through 22 minutes videos, complete with musical intros, side notes about the family dog, etc. just to find a single spec. These guides are intended to be the other end of that research spectrum. I can have AI generate 90% of them from the PDF's too, although I have to edit carefully -- seems like AI injects a mistake or two for sport, just so the humans continue to feel needed....

The amount of times I've pulled out the phone while on a creeper to hunt a site, pdf or a 20 minute video for the 8 seconds I need.... this would have been a God send!
"AI injects a mistake or two for sport" It's almost like it's part of the algorithm to weed out the weak
