CV Axle Boot Clamp Question

Push the trans from side to side. If it moves or sways, thats a pretty good indicator. The "hanging from a rope" analogy is a pretty good one, as this was how mine was shortly before axle failure.
No need to buy a new mount, the urethane upgrade to your existing mount is superior, in my opinion, and better yet, cheap.
After doing this mod myself, the trans is well planted and does not move. Drive train slop and power delivery was noticeably better and after 5 years running in autox and on the street, have not had experienced any downsides (such as increased NVH).
There are also DIY guides on how to do this on rennlist (for early and late mounts) as well as the link shared previously.

I checked my trans mount this morning. It is rock solid. No record of any trans mount/CV joint-boot work in the records I got with the car, but not a surprise as there were only a few receipts that were provided.
