COVID has trained salespeople into being crafty horse traders and borderline swindlers. Your SA likely has another buyer willing to pay a hefty premium for your spot and the easiest way out is to get you a different allocation. Who knows, maybe the Turbo allocation came from someone willing to give it up for a GTS or something else. If it's 2023, then I would stay put if I were you. You're already halfway through 2022 and 2023 will be here before you know it.

Tom,
No one needs a new Porsche. My friend Doug pointed this out (he bought his wife a new 992 Cab). I think all guys here are too smart to commit to any salesman or internet deals.

I am ordering a new 2023 911 Turbo to be delivered this year for MSRP. I can trade in the 2020 Porsche 911 or not. I can renegotiate the price when it is delivered. I can pay cash for the car while keeping the 2020 Porsche 911,

I never buy anything without being the buyer in charge of all deals.

My current car is really good.

I have been all over the Porsche USA site with nothing more as tech. Porsche has 12 different seats available with little tech on each seat. I want the comfortable one.

I did spec out a really nice 2023 Porsche 911 GTS that I also like. It's $34K cheaper with local taxes.

definitely have to take it. maybe the supply chain issues will be over in a couple of years and since these cars hold their value well, you can get into an S sooner than that and not take a hit. Turbo "poor" > no Porsche at all

I have no clue what is going on today?

It may be some supply issues with some guys having more cash money (no one needs a $200K Porsche) than before.

I wish the Zuffenhausen factory production can increase production of the best cars in the world.

OK, I took a long nap on Eastern time.......

It's now 03:25 in the which is Saturday morning, I woke up thinking my current 2020 Porsche 911 is good. It has 6883 miles on it.

So, please never mind my trading on any Turbo. Heck, I am thinking that car values as well as stock values are going in different directions during 2022-2023. JMO.

I have decided to go to another Porsche dealer for a price (I live half-way between two Atlanta area dealers). I had a promise but no contract. I understand being busy but a salesman should call or text a good customer. I can text in one minute.

I have bought cars from this dealer. Here:

This is a 2014 Porsche 911 that was loaded with options. It was a former car in a museum exhibit that Porsche helped sponsor. Porsche USA transferred it to this dealer. I happened to drop by just after they got it as a COP car. It had 99 miles on it. I got the first 3 services free complicates of Porsche USA.

I also got a nice Porsche 993 from them but another thread.

My opinion is that no current market stays the same. It can be Porsche cars or nice houses. I like to buy them right with no worries about future depreciation. JMHO.

Sure can't hurt to shop around a little. I had a friend put refundable deposits down at multiple (!) dealers, and ultimately bought from the one that was first to offer up an allocation without an ADM. This was several years ago, but still....

Tom,
I am dealing with two dealers which are both about 5 miles from my house. I have bought numerous cars from each one.

Both service departments are good.

I can stay with my first choice. It does me well to ask my second choice to remember them and mention that I am ready to buy again from them tomorrow. My previous buy is from the other guy with their sticker on the front window.

I think they compete which each other in getting Porsche guys to change dealers? Maybe so?

I am only looking to order a car as neither one has any inventory. I can wait longer than they can?

I'll explain it all tomorrow after talking to them on the car? They may have an extra allocation for a old customer that changes dealers?

So, please ignore my post about contacting dealer #2. :eh:

I just got a message from #1 dealer, and they need to see me. They said not today as it's the last day of the month (the last day of the month is busy for sales as they close out the bonus pool). I'll get by the next day as something good has changed (bad news is never communicated in person). :geek:

The message said something about my Turbo order or something else I may like. I'll bring a deposit check.

I apologize for the extra posts, but this is a Porsche message forum?
