Based on comments I had previously read, I was expecting to have trouble programming mine, but it also only took me five minutes to do it and I programmed the steering shell diamond key and it works great. I followed the instructions in the owner manual.
What year is your car? I'm wondering if it's gotten better for the '22+ models?
Mine's a new 2022!

Has anyone mastered setting up Homelink on a 992? I have tried and tried but as far as I gotten is for it to show up on PCM so I can press and hold on my garage door's name. I cannot get it to automatically open at the set GPS location.
Any help would be appreciated.
Tim
Thanks for all of the comments. I must have misunderstood about the automatic opening. I do get a small box to appear on the bottom of the PCM screen when I am close to the door so I can press and hold on the button to open/close the door. I do not get a Homelink screen to pop up, however. I like the idea of using the diamond button but I programmed that to control the auto stop/start which I hate!!

I spent endless hours getting mine set up, and am not sure I could do it again or tell you how. The critical trick that I remember is that when you go to sync the remote, I had to drive down the street and be out of range of the garage receiver. Once it controlled the doors, it all but remembered the location on its own -- I think the red box came up asking if I wanted it to remember and it did. When you say automatically open, do you mean you want the doors to open, or just want the dash app to pull up the screen? Not sure it can automatically open the doors without pushing the button? I also programmed my diamond button on the steering wheel to pull up the garage door function on the PCM....

I'm thinking it may depend on your garage door opener as I had to call Homelink to get my 991.2 set up after following all of Porsche's instructions.
I think that is 100% right. It took weeks, many phone calls, and some undocumented tricks, to get my 991.2 to work with these doors. On the other hand, I was able to get the 992 working with these doors with very little (but some) fuss.

Love those doors and I would kill for that garage. We only have a two car so my wife gets one side and teh Porsche gets the other. My other car sits out!! Also miss my four post lift. amazing the repairs you can do with it!!

I have a HomeKit enable garage door so I have not had to bother with setting up the controller. I purchased the adapter form amazon for ~$35.00 or so. Very easy to install. Now when I leave the house or I'm approaching the house the garage door opener icon appears on the home screen and I just have to touch the button.
Can be found on amazon "Meross Smart Garage Door Opener Remote"

Homelink in the 992 has been a mess, just check other forums. Mine works about half the time and only if I'm not using CarPlay. Coming out of the garage, the boot up takes so long that the screen never pops up. I programmed the diamond button on the steering wheel for Homelink and that's okay. I have the Homelink GPS set up for about 500 feet from the garage so that ir is open by the time I get there.
If you're worried about using the diamond bottom, the buttons under the PCM can also be programmed.

Thanks for the information, I'll check it out. Been doing a lot of travel so I haven't had a chance to work on it for the past month.
