Hey folks, super excited to find this site and the wealth of 944 information! I am a long time car guy who's owned a lot of crap cars and some amazing cars. Currently I own a 1989 944 S2 that I purchased in 2017. I believe I am the third owner and it was originally a New York State car. Based on the state of the body and undercarriage I think it was only driven in summer months. It's been an absolute joy to own, work on and learn with. Fun fact... I know it had the original thermostat because when I replaced it it was stamped with "Made in West Germany" https://share.icloud.com/photos/052Erf7 ... B8-1Swxd7A

I also own 2011 Boxster Spyder. I bought it a little over 2 years ago with 30K miles on it and now it has over 40K because I can't help myself if there is any opportunity to drive it https://share.icloud.com/photos/0a0FVof ... PEHgXAm2zQ

I'm still fairly new here, so I'll take the bait. I'm a mostly retired lawyer, as well. I live in Jenks, which is a suburb of Tulsa.

Thanks to Carpokes, I found a buyer for my 944 S2. A guy from Mississippi listed that he was looking for one, and we ended up doing a deal.

I have had 5 914s, going back to when I was in high school in the 70s. The S2 was the only 944 I've had. Since selling that, I found and bought a pristine 2002 Boxster, base model. The PO was nigh-on obsessive in his maintenance, both mechanical and cosmetic. It looks like a new car. He replaced the IMS bearing, clutch, water pump, struts all around, tires, pads and rotors, and just put on a new glass window top. I've only had it for a week, but I love it. I see the Boxster as the spiritual descendant of the 914, and it feels like it.

Morsmanlaw, your turn for the formal "Welcome to Carpokes" and "glad you found the site" post.

Thanks for posting the pics of your seemingly new Boxster. "Spiritual descendant" - great reference and tribute to both Porsche models, the 914 and Boxster!

Boy, for a 21 year old car the seats look like they have barely been sat in. Clean machine and it appears to be a dark purplish blue , but not sure. How many miles are on your new topless terror?
