Hey folks, super excited to find this site and the wealth of 944 information! I am a long time car guy who's owned a lot of crap cars and some amazing cars. Currently I own a 1989 944 S2 that I purchased in 2017. I believe I am the third owner and it was originally a New York State car. Based on the state of the body and undercarriage I think it was only driven in summer months. It's been an absolute joy to own, work on and learn with. Fun fact... I know it had the original thermostat because when I replaced it it was stamped with "Made in West Germany"

I also own 2011 Boxster Spyder. I bought it a little over 2 years ago with 30K miles on it and now it has over 40K because I can't help myself if there is any opportunity to drive it

I just now saw the link for the two photos of your '89 S2 and '11 Boxster Spyder - wow! Gorgeous cars Miguel - they both look brand new. And to top that off, they're driven! Good for you (and your Porsche's)!
Thanks for adding the links - I just happened to look back or I wouldn't have known they were there.
By the way, Carpokes is a very picture-friendly site (no third-party hosting needed), so if you choose to post photos here, please do so. It's easy. I've added the "how to" link in case it's something you decide to do.

miggytosh,
I echo blueline's note as I missed opening the two links and from someone who has had so many white cars I can't count them all, I gotta say you have two lovely ladies -- I like the topless one the most, ha.

Hi Walter,
Thanks for joining Carpokes. I think you’ll like it here. If you feel so inclined, please post some photos of your cars!

Hi, Dave Y here, just learned about the forum from Panorama.
We've got 4 cars at present, my three early 911s (see pictures elsewhere in the forum, '73 911S, '73.5 911T which i use as a daily driver, and a '72 911T that i'm the original owner of) and my wife's 991. I've been owning and driving 911s for over 50 years, starting with the used 912 I bought in 1970.
My main car-related activities now are centered around making my '73T a more useful car and finding solutions to the fact that some parts are no longer available and that others, although they look the same as the original parts, are not up to the very high quality of the parts the car was originally built with.
I look forward to seeing what topics are being discussed on this forum.
Dave

Welcome aboard Dave -- great to have you here! Love all your cars, but am a sucker for orange so included that in the weekly newsletter I just sent out. Anyone who can keep a 911 looking that nice for over 50 years deserves to be in a newsletter or two.

Hey all,
Just saw your ad in Panorama. Wanted to just say Hi. As a retired professional facility manager we have decided to live most of the year in Belize. When home in the USA, I have a wonderful 718 GTS 4.0 to remind me what it’s like to drive on pavement. (Roads in Belize are more conducive to Jeeps). Hope you’re all getting ready for top down driving weather.
My best experience that I wanted to share with everyone was a trip we made to Tennessee to run the Tail of the Dragon with Rennsport. It really proved to us “It’s not just the cars, it’s the people!”

Excellent!
Here's a Carpokes thread in the "Racing" sub-forum with some posts about the Rennsport "Tail" event, including a couple of short videos from the 2022 and 2023 runs.

Welcome Dave, Walter and Paja Belize,
We are getting plenty of new members and you three are indicative of the broad scope of Porschephiles signing in, with new Porsches , old Porsches , SUVs ,etc. PajaBelize said it perfectly to what really applies to Carpokes, " It is not just the cars it is the people! " The people here are helpful, friendly, and passionate about Porsches, and love to share about their experiences. Feel free to ask questions, no one is going to ever tell you to use the " Search Button" because ew understand the passion!
