Thanks for posting! Would love to hear and see more about the motor. I've heard of people doing that swap, but never really followed closely as to why its a good match for the 944?
You’re welcome, Tom. If a 944 were to be made today, I think it would have came with this 5 cylinder. The fit is perfect. 6” shorter than the factory motor. It also allows the car to be legal in the gt series bc it’s a vag motor.

With the other black parts staying CF, why not consider wrapping the the lower rear valance. It will be down low so if the wrap is a little off few will notice. Unlike 3-4 years ago there are some Carbon Fiber wrap that are quite good.

My 1987 924S HPDE track car at VIR in 2023. I’ve only had air and water cooled 911 track cars over the past 18 years and now learning to drive a “momentum “ car…and having a Blast!

Sorry, just some follow up shots of the current track rig setup so come say Hi if you see it in the paddock.
So far I’m the only one with a Gulf 917 on the trailer! This is a screened image of an original painting I made several years ago. More are on my website: www.FredBaumannGallery. Com

Here the before/progress of my 85.5 944 that I picked up a year ago with no intentions of keeping more than a couple weeks. The original plan was to "de-rice" it, polish the paint and resell but it's just too much fun to drive and tinker with. Currently, the motor is out for a reseal...
