I had a pretty good extended test drive with the 718 base model, and that was a very satisfactory car. So far in just the drive home it’s obvious how different the GTS is.

Exceeding expectations.

Fantastic! (The car will continue to exceed expectations for many a mile.)

Congrats!

The only tough part is the break in period , but well worth the time ---- in fact it is a great reason to get in the little croc and make it rock!!

Made the move to Cayman! Traded in the 2020 911 C2S for a new-off-the-lot 2024 718 Cayman S in ice gray metallic. Hoping to make the Cayman the new semi-annual cross-country ride. Tom can expect a request for a few Carpoke goodies soon!

Nice! Love the 718 Cayman. Of course the 911 is sweet too! I looked back to confirm your cars. By the pic, you kept the 2024 C2S which is Oak Green Metallic, correct?

Yes, I'm going to hang on to the Oak Green 2024 C2S indefinitely. Had the opportunity at PECLA last week to drive the 2025 models of the C4S and Cayman GTS back to back on the track. Both are delightful and well beyond my skill level. Then the staff put me in a GT3 (in oak green neo!) with one of their drivers at the wheel. Caramba ... getting out after just two laps, I couldn't walk in a straight line!

Attended Fahrzeugfest 6 in Pittsburgh on Sunday & then swung by PR on the way home...since I never took the opportunity to experience the track, I wanted to take a look around. Amazing facility.
A fine example of what can happen when you keep telling yourself, "maybe next year". :|

Unfortunately, Pitt Race is closing at the end of the season. It has been sold to a developer (or a group of developers). Rumor is that it will be turned into a massive data center, but at 400+ acres there must be more. However, whatever happens, the track is slated to go away permanently. Workers just found out about it this past week - it was sudden. Quite sad.

Exactly.

I joined a waitlist to try to get in on the Novice HPDE at the end of the month, just to experience the track.

I happened across https://savepittrace.org/ this morning.

From the page, "10/7/2025 Update
Update from the Borough Meeting: Around 30 people attended to show support, with ~8 speaking publicly.

Confirmed: The borough has not been presented with any official notice of sale or redevelopement. There have not been any requests for permits, surveys, zoning, etc."

I'm concerned this is going to be one of those sales to investors with deep pockets that have no solid plan, but are trying to get ahead of the competition...and then NOTHING happens with it & it sits abandoned for decades.

It's just awful all the way around.

It is awful for many in that area, not just racers and track enthusiasts. It appears to me that the current owners are wanting to cash out - maybe they are at or already past retirement age. Anyway, it's good to see that people are rallying and trying to do whatever they can.
