I would want 4 sets.
I sure wish they were black anodized!
Generic painting does not hold up for any length of time. It's purely a temporary black color solution.
I stated once before, to get them professionally painted cannot be done for a low number of pieces, so that is not a feasible solution.
You talked about some sort of black vinyl wrap? That might hold up better than painting...? How does it adhere to the metal?
This is 70-80% home to an ideal solution.
I DO appreciate all the effort on this project though....

Vinyl will work perfectly and last since that is what I have on mine now and it is over a year since I have been using them. As far as painting goes, I found a couple of places in the past for painting small parts on my local Craigslist. Anyone that airbrushes, etc. can do them for a few bucks.

Much appreciate Tom and Bob for spearheading this project. I am definitely interested in a pair.

How do you attach the vinyl to the hole cover? Adhesive?

What is the ordering process?
When will they be available?
Thank you.

Velcro, or if your Vinyl is thick enough, it will fit in the hole and stays put. Only problem with that is it might be a bit more involved taking it out of the hole.

Vinyl already has a sticky back so you just peel the backing off. And with velcro you just push down on one side and the other rises enough to take it off. As I said, I have been using my plastic ones for well over a year and they have worked perfectly every single time, and I use them every time the top goes down, which is just about every time the car is out here in FL.

I can supply the unfinished ones for $35 a set, and black anodized for $60 a set, shipped first class FOB seller to addresses in the US. Please post in this thread if you would like a set, and I'll keep a running list. As long as we get to 20 sets total (and at least 10 sets of each), I'll get them ordered and sort out payments once ready (via PayPal only). Since this is really a community service courtesy of Carpokes, my only request is that these go to registered Carpokeans only. Registration is fast and free, so in the spirit these are offered, please only sign up for yourself (i.e., if your Uncle Lou wants a set, get him over here so he can put his own name on the list.)
Shipping outside the US is possible, but costs more than the parts themselves -- even to Canada. You've been warned....
