Nice work Tom, I wish they put a drive mode knob in the Spyder...loved the look and a Yellow one would have been cool - I had a Miami Blue one in my Targa GTS.
Was it a painted bezel or bezel cover? If painted bezel, how easy was it to snap off the knob?
I popped mine off (not a cover) and had it painted. It was easy for me to do albeit someone else said they were not able to and were afraid to break something, which is baffling since it seemed really easy for me to do.

I have like a dental tool pick, 90 degree at the end , super pointy. Just get under the lip gently and it pops off. I started at 12 o’ clock tab.

So I have a mode dial unit I got from a junked car for purposes of modeling a colored cover. Inspired by this thread, I took a butter knife and popped off the knob part. I gently pried it off with the knife. It took some force, but not less than I would have thought. As Bob and others say, it comes off reasonably easily. I'm still not going to try it on my car, as I'd worry about scratching something in the process and putting stress on the dial mechanism, but less risk-adverse (more rational) folks can indeed get it off pretty easily as advertised.
That said, the clip-on cover I'm working on is already looking great. Will post pictures tomorrow. For all of us timid new car owners, it should give the same look (and opportunity to change colors for the occasion) without stressing.
