Interesting indeed. It appears that the mode dial upgrades are catching on, but maybe in ways not intended. Curious how this is viewed and how it fits in the picture.

It looks like you need to pry the original knob off and replace it with this new one. Avoiding that was really the point of making ours as a cover. I always figured if you were willing to pry the knob off, you could just paint it whatever color you want, which is what I assume TechArt does. But suppose there are folks who like to keep their original parts and/or are not up for painting.

Exactly.

Well, we know where the idea for their version of a different colored dial came from, that's for sure!

Tom, Don’t you have the original drive mode assembly? I’ll bet the mode dial doesn’t come off easy. I might be wrong but didn’t Bob Z use the CP cover rather than yanking the OEM one off?

I could be wrong but I would say that most people would prefer not to "pry" anything off their Porsche. I am mechanically inclined, but I will not pry anything off my interior ha. And I agree with Tom, if I am going to go through the trouble of prying it off, I might as well paint it the exact color I want....

This is why Tom's is perfect. 2 second install, and no heart attack while prying a delicate piece off your new Porsche. And, they are cheap enough you can buy more than 1 to change up once in a while

I have taken it off. It's not that hard -- I used a butter knife and levered/pried it off without too much fuss. Would take a little nerve to do on a brand new car, but I'm sure there's a place in the market for a replica knob in various colors, and it looks like they are trying to make a quality product. Not sure why they felt the need to knock my design, but I still think ours look pretty good. :)

It doesn’t look like RL is happy about their advertising.
