I got back home yesterday. What a great trip! What a great car! Interstates still suck. And, are Subaru drivers required to fail a test or something to be allowed to drive those things?

I was invited to a car show at the Muscle Car Museum put on by the Lions Club. Great event.

Great event in that we had 4 30 minute sessions, 30 minutes on then 30 minutes off and repeat. Made for a great morning.

I purchased a pair of Lift Bars for my car.

They use the factory lift points and provide a single central lift point for each side so you can safely jack up the car and put it on stands while only supporting the weight through the appropriate points.

The GTS 4.0 is pretty low and I did make a set of ultra high tech automotive lifting devices to get enough initial ground clearance to slide the bars under the car while already on the jack.

Then its pretty straight forward to roll the bar under put each end in the hole for the lift point and jack it up.

With the stock wheel size, I think I could buy a lower profile jack and get away without the wood blocks. But the tires I'm looking at for competition are a bit smaller in diameter and I think with that I'll need the blocks anyway.

Excellent - not too far of a drive for you.

PTC (Polecat) was great! A very cool day yesterday, eventually reaching the high 50s to low 60s - but beautiful outside. The track was a bit green which made the 19 turns in 2.1 miles more of a challenge. I love that track but being that busy for the entire lap does wear one out.

It was an open track and I mostly had the place to myself. (Not a group-type day, so no corner workers and the like.)

PTC is 90-miles from home but the traffic for over half that distance is horrid. It takes close to two hours each way, so after time on track and almost 4-hours in grueling traffic to and from, I was bone tired last night. A zombie. I felt the age.

But, for sure fun on track out in the sticks - peace and solitude.

@Robertsmania That is interesting. How was the stability while lifting each side and while up on the jack stands? I am interested as I will start doing my own oil changes this coming year after CPO is over as well as other maint. in the future, e.g., brake pads.
