Just got the car back from the Ceramic Coating install, after paint correction. Also had the wheels coated.
It looks almost Blue-Black Metalic now ! The color is Black Metalic.
Nice GTS Cayman! Congrats!
I have its almost-twin, albeit mine is four years older. I've been informed that triple black is "murdered out"! Lol.
Or "Gangster"

The last few drives my drivers rear wheel or something related had been making a strange noise, rumbling that is speed dependent not RPM . Today after a canyon drive I jacked up the car and spun each rear wheel and found a bad driver side rear wheel bearing. If I am doing one I may as well do both.
I removed the knuckles and used a slide hammer to remove the flange from the wheel bearing, which successfully broke both bearings. Used a threaded style cup press to remove the bearing from the knuckle. Still have the bearing race to remove from the flange, plan to use a dremel to cut a slot then a chisel to break the race so I can then remove it. Nobody local had the bearings in stock so I ordered from a local online only parts outfit a couple new bearings. I have never done this job before so I had to go to the tool store and buy a slide hammer and the cup press kit.
Having fun in the garage, now time for a beer!

Glad you found the issue and are undertaking the fix and a new adventure in the garage. Good luck and Happy New Year too!

Great work -- have any pics of the process? Would be worth its own how-to thread. These cars are new enough that it's still rare to find good old fashion DIY repairs being done. Also pretty soon wheel bearings to go bad, no?

I thought the same, it is pretty early for a bad wheel bearing. I am at 25k miles but lots of days on track so who knows.
The process to replace is the same as any recent VW product, the Humble Mechanic has a really good tutorial of the process on YT. I have linked it below.
Tools I bought for this job:
Slide hammer - to remove the axle flange, this does break the bearing in the process. Needed a few washers between the tool and the hub to allow it to sit flush. https://www.harborfreight.com/9-way-5-l ... de+hammers
The humble Mechanic video, it is on a front wheel drive but the bearing style, hub interface and flange style is the same.
Another one of many I watch before I started

Each wheel uses one large dual roller style of bearing. The fronts are very similar and the same process applies.
Shown below one sides flange and both of my wheel bearings, one pointing up and one down to show how the race from the flange will go into the bearing.
After you have used the slide hammer to remove the flange from the hub bearing you will be left with this inner race stuck to the snout of the hub.
I used a dremel tool with a cut off style abrasive wheel to cut a nice slit in the race.

I then smacked the slit with a chissel to crack the race and then pried the slit open with a screw driver to remove it.
