Staircase shot… believe it or not I’m getting ready to paint the whole inside… that stairwell is a 24’ hole

Before I paint tho I’m trying to figure out a roll up garage door… geee they’re free!!!
It's a great space and interesting architecturally considering the basement off and below the garage - can get creative with that kind of layout!

The staircase off the garage is an amazing feature.. now I can just bring things straight down to the dedicated workshop rather than lugging through the house…
The only thing i would have done differently is to use the same exposed beams like the inside of the house vs a ceiling…

Love the garage, and seeing the Endless Summer poster reminded me of when it came out, I suddenly fell in love with surfing even though I'd never been to the ocean.......
Great photos and vehicles!
Thanks for sharing

my garage is absolutely nothing to look at. it's a garage, it garages
but i finally got a lift installed and pretty happy with the fancy beetle collection.
it seems i have room for another lift, so at some point that is probably happening as well.

These garages are pretty fantastic. My working garage is either 'fantastically short of' or 'functionally beyond' the shrines to Porsches and the owners' other hobbies. It's a ~~1200 square foot working living room with just one bar chair at a work surface, always some project or ten at 'WIP' status plus a backlog pile.
I remember a poster that showed a many-bay garage with an exotic at each door. Caption was "he who dies with the most toys wins!" Meanwhile, I'm going through an estate planning update right now, with the caption "he who dies with the most toys is a huge burden to his survivors!" At least that's what the attorney is telling us.
Sorry....

My garage begins transitioning next week. Paint is in. Pod shows up next week. Then floor and cabinets to follow. News at 11

Big undertaking but one that will be fun and super rewarding! I'm sure you're doing this, but be sure to take progress pics along the journey. (I failed to do an adequate job of that during the several upgrades along the way.)
