I have the crp919E, the 919X and 919E are essentially the same with only the color being different.
Make sure the unit you get says it is bi-directional, meaning it reads as well as writes.

I had a launch CRP919x and it worked great. I was corresponding on the 991 forum with people using a Thinkdiag who indicated it could do everything my CRP919x could do at one-fourth the price so I returned the CRP919x and bought a Thinkdiag. I have only had it a couple days but so far I agree. The only annoyance is that when I take a picture of the code that I am changing, with the CRP919x the code contains the name of the module. On the Thinkdiag, the code does not contain the name of module.

Hello guys!!
I'm from Italy and I have a 718 Spyder 2022.
I would love to code some stuff on my car, like:
- cluster gauge backlights always on
- spoiler deployment speed
- AutoS/S saves last state
I have no Lauch x431 tool and I was wondering if there is somebody (I'll pay of course) who can help me in doing this via remote connection (I have laptop and good wifi connection in my garage).
Thanks to anyone who can help with this!

I think you are better off buying your own x431. You can purchase a Thinkdiag for about US $80.

However, if you want to pay someone to do it for you, there are people on this forum with a PIWIS who should be able to do this for you by remote connection.

Hello Ken,
just to understand.
With the Thinkdiag you are suggesting I will be able to do all the things by myself? Just for 80$?
How does it works? I just buy it and plug it. Connect to my mobile and code everything I need?
sorry for my questions but I'm not into "coding cars" that much
thanks

That is exactly what I am saying. With the Thinkdiag you will be able to code yourself. I have attached instructions for using the Thinkdiag to code. You plug the Thinkdiag into the OBD port in your car and it pairs to an android phone or tablet via Bluetooth. While there is an IOS version of the software, the IOS version can't be used for coding.
Also attached is a copy of the current version of the coding guide that Croc 2.0 and I put together. It includes instructions for coding the three items you mentioned in your post. In addition, I am working on an update which I hope to finish in the next couple of weeks that includes additional coding changes.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Wow Ken!!!
you have been extremely kind!
Is there a specific version of thinkdiag I have to buy?
I found this one on amazon, which appears to be version 2.0.

If you confirm this is ok I will buy it and follow your pdf instruction to code some stuff.
Hoping not to blow my car up!

The item you found is version 2 of the Thinkdiag. I have the original Thinkdiag. I have not used version 2. My understanding is that version 2 has some additional features that you will probably never use. If you can find the original one I would get that since it is cheaper and I can confirm it works. If you can't find the original one, I believe version 2 should work but I do not know for sure.
With respect to blowing up your car, I had the same concerns when I started. That feeling goes away after you have coded one or two items. All I can say is, double and triple check each code that you are changing, change only one “hack” at a time and keep good notes of each code that you have changed (or even better take a picture of each code that you change).
