Interesting qually session it was quite close . Perez gets a 3 grid spot penalty for impeding Hulk .

I won't spoil it but that was an interesting race with points to teams that have been struggling . Congrats to the winner !

Hmm Alonso gets a 20 second penalty for dangerous driving . The penalty drops him to 8th . In the view of the race officials his action contributed to the crash of the driver chasing him .

Interesting take. Penalty based almost entirely on post race interviews with race officials that Alonso and Russell were required to give regarding the incident.

Alonso is a crafty veteran and will use everything in his knowledge toolbox to hold a position . I personally think this penalty is BS but it is what it is . The series/commentators are desperate for anything positive for Mercedes .

Yesterday Mario and Michael were at the grand opening of their F1 facility in Silverstone . So even though they were denied entry they are still plowing forward . They must have substantial $$$ behind their effort . I wish them well .

I do too. They'd be great for F1, of that I have no doubt.
I think eyes are opening significantly to F1 in the U.S. and circuit racing in general here, including IMSA and others. Many now see the potential $$$ and are therefore becoming more open to spending the necessary dough to grab their share.
