I’ve gotten 3 emails in the past 10 days that my GTS is going in production but hasn’t started yet, originally was scheduled to be built by February 28 but got delayed due to Aerokit shortage

My Production end date got pushed to 4/22 now. This is nuts.
Porsche should be communicating with their customers providing an explanation. My car was supposed to have been at the dealer today.
It’s very poor customer service. Very disappointed.
I understand that they’ve had to deal with a lot of hurdles from chip shortages to issues with other parts, etc. but there’s no excuse for not communicating.
We’re spending a lot of money with this company so at the very least we should get a communication like “Sorry Mr Murphy, we’re having to delay the manufacture of your car due to xxx. We’ve pushed the dates by 3 weeks but we’re hoping it won’t take that long. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for both your patience and for being a Porsche customer”
Instead, TYD gets moved an additional 3 weeks and crickets.
On a more positive note I got my first podium with PCA sim racing tonight driving the 992 Cup car at Sebring.
Qualified on pole but could only manage P2.

@murphsea Congratulations on your awesome pole and P2 finish. Looks like lots of fun and hopefully, it brightened up your day a little.
I certainly share your frustration regarding the delays and lack of information from Porsche. Additionally, Porsche asks for our understanding and requests that we stay in touch with our dealer for more information. Unfortunately, my dealer doesn't seem to know any more than we know concerning our specific situation. In addition, I regard the emails I receive from Porsche concerning my build as nothing more than teasers. They inform me of what is about to occur and then the dates get delayed / extended and nothing happens (at least not yet). This could be, and should be, handled differently by Porsche. There is no excuse for the lack of informative communication.
I personally have given up on TYD. It is nothing but a source of frustration, with forever changing dates, and inaccurate information. It's like "Lucy with the Football." Continually pushing / delaying the dates whenever we get close.
Hopefully, in time, we will both be delighted when we receive our cars and be able to put this experience behind us.

Before wars, pandemics, burning ships, and chip shortages, Porsche's scheduling info was just ok, but still quite opaque and murcurial. Now with one thing after another, they just seem at a loss. I wonder how much is communication vs. the factory just constantly juggling trying to keep up with everything? Either way, they'd probably be better off just fessing up and saying your cars on the list and we'll get to it as soon as we possibly can. Better to under-promise and over-deliver....
But in the long-run, the car will be worth the wait.

In my opinion, Porsche has lost sight of its customer. In addition to the many supply chain and other COVID related issues they are dealing with they should also consider their customer and ask themselves if their current points of contact are helpful. The answer is obvious! In fact, I would venture to say that Porsche is tarnishing its brand image, among customers currently affected, by not being mindful of their needs. Porsche itself is creating this ill will by its very own points of contact.Tom wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 10:07 am Before wars, pandemics, burning ships, and chip shortages, Porsche's scheduling info was just ok, but still quite opaque and murcurial. Until they can get back to a more predictable production schedule they should turn off their current email notification system and TYD which are no longer helpful or informative from a customer perspective. They should issue one communique that simple discusses the many issues they are facing, ask for their customers understanding, let the customer know that they will do everything possible to manufacture their car as quickly as they possibly can and, state that their dealer will let them know when the car has been produced.

Agreed. I'm very understanding of all that is going on in the world and the challenges that Porsche has had to face.Hawk wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 12:08 pm

Sorry for going on a rant but my frustration is with the lack of communication.
I'm sure they have enough staff to be able to send an email to a customer who's buying a 200k car from them or any car for that matter. It's not like they're Ford. They don't have that many orders in the system.
I actually have an F150 Lightening reservation and Ford sent me an email to say that unfortunately I won't get one until 2023 so I won't bother checking the reservation system as I know Ford will let me know when I can get the truck.
They really should shut down TYD until it's actually accurate. It's not helping the situation.
It's more than likely publishing their own internal planned dates but what they know but we don't is that there's no way they're going to actually hit those dates.

I currently have reservations with Chevrolet for the Corvette Z06 which I placed several years ago. I'm #46 on the list according to my dealer. I also have a reservation for the Ford F150 Lightening and received the same communication you did. And, I have a reservation for the Chevrolet Silverado EV. The communication from all three has been effective and informative. I'm very disappointed in Porsche who could and should be doing a better job of communication.murphsea wrote: Sat Apr 02, 2022 12:26 pmAgreed. So, got a positive update on TYD today. Instead of production finishing 4/22 it’s now on its way to Emden port
.
Now the wait to see what ship it gets on and when it does but making progress finally.
