Beautiful car. It's a dead ringer for @Crazy Eddie's car. He will be showing his at Luftgekuhlt tomorrow if you are going. If not, he's down here in Silicon Valley and it would be very cool to compare the cars side-by-side. I suspect your interior is a bit more vibrant than his. Yours must be a non-US car, right? The US Silver Rose's all had airbags as far as I know... We did an article on Ed's car in Panorama that may be of interest, linked below for PCA members....

I read the article about Ed's car when it came out in Panorama. It is a great story and a stunning car! Mine is nowhere near as clean. It was previously used as PCA club racer and I restored it for street use. As part of this I swapped the cracked dashboard with a good used pre-airbag one and installed the matching steering wheel. Would indeed be very cool to meet up and see Ed's car in person. I was out of town and couldn't make it to Luftgekuehlt unfortunately...

Very cool. Ed tracked his car extensively when he lived in NY, but still found a way to preserve it (as only he can). Did you also recover your seats in the correct fabric. When I told Ed yours looked more vibrant, he thought the only way that's possible is if it was just a camera thing, or you have replaced it somewhere along the way. Not that I'd EVER want to prove him right, but your story now makes me wonder if he is... If we meet up, I can bring those intercooler ducts too....

Ed is right. The seats and door cards were re-upholstered by the previous owner (he is also from SF) with the correct fabric he ordered from Germany. Yes, would be perfect to also meet up for the intercooler ducts.

@Tom @Crazy Eddie

I finally got around to reading the June 2015 Panorama article written by Tom about Ed's 1988 944 Silber Rosa Turbo S - "Sterling Silber" "Special Cars Come From Special People".

Great read, great pictures and a great and very special car. And now I know a little more about Eddie! Talk about detail! Good thing he's not doing barracks, troop or other military-type inspections ... good grief, everyone would be in the stockade for life or worse. :lol:

Nicely done Tom and Ed! (The photographer too - excellent photos!)

Just re-read the story from beginning to end. That was my first story in Panorama (or anywhere for that matter) and what I didn't appreciate at the time is what a once-in-a-lifetime experience it was. The end result is a fun story, but getting there with Ed, when neither of us had a clue what we were doing, was one of life's great memories. I tip my hat to @stout for giving us a shot against all odds, and of course to Ed for being such an interesting character, great friend, and having such an article-worthy car! The photographer was Michael Alan Ross, whose pictures are still filling the pages of Porsche magazines everywhere -- great photographer and just a great guy. :)

Inspired by this thread today, I actually washed my car -- a pretty rare event around here. :)

Looking fine Eric!

I went back and looked at all of your track oriented and other updates - performance, suspension, interior, wheels, etc. She has the looks to match! Nicely done.
