Hello! New to the 944 platform. Just acquired a 83’ 944 from a close friend of mine since he didn’t have time to work on it during highschool so I’d like to finish what he started to give him that closure haha. This seems like a great community and I’m excited to be able to have a place I can come to for discussion or information!

Welcome Zayoki, you just joined the friendliest place on the net to discuss Porsches. As you'd stated you are new to the platform, some additional resources might come in handy.Zayoki wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 4:47 am Hello! New to the 944 platform. If you don't have manuals, this site has them in PDF format.
http://p914-6info.net/944%20Manuals.html
You may also want to explore Clarks Garage, its an older site from the mid-late 90's focused on 944's. The originator has passed but the site is still available and might be helpful. https://www.clarks-garage.com/
Some parts are available through Porsche dealers, but its best to have a part number before googling the number to see who might have the part and at what price.. One specialty source is 944Online. Ian Riley is the proprietor and has serviced 944 owners for many years, and his website is also a good information source for diagrams and part numbers. Another friendly specialty parts site is only944.com.
You can also find/learn a lot by searching youtube which has MANY videos from various sources, one in particular that might be of help is https://www.youtube.com/@NC944er. The videos are clear, clean, and well produced.
There are also many 944 focused groups on FB which might help as well, and you might find one close to you with members who periodically get together to work on their cars.
And as Blueline suggested, there is a lot to explore here so be sure to look at the transaxle groups and the general discussions.
ENJOY!
Rob
