I’m Shadow (long time nickname) in greater Orlando. Just got out of a base 718 Cayman and into a 2018 Cayman GTS. A 4.0 would be amazing, but a little out of my price range, for now. I love the spirit on this forum and am looking forward to spending some time - and a few bucks - in the Carpokes Store!
Welcome Shadow! If I were not terminally addicted to 50-year-old 914s, I'd add a Cayman to my stable quicker than you can say WARP SPEED MR. SULU! They are sublimely beautiful, in my opinion, and closer to the original Porsche mid-engine spirit than anything else on the Nurburgring, these days. Your excellent taste in modern Porsches is commendable! Good on ya, mate!

Nice to see so many new owners signing in as we are getting super close to 6500 members and I am sure " Carpokes " will hit that in November!

Well, I've not much to add following the illustrious words of the Magnificent Three Musketeers welcoming you who preceded me.

So, simply put, Welcome to Carpokes!

Well put D'artagnan, since we all know there were actually 4 Musketeers, ha!

Hi Tom,
I bought my first Porsche about a month ago. It’s a 2014 911, 991.1 base Carrera w manual transmission and some great features. Mounted winter tires today and logged my first decent drive with wife and son on board. It’s feeling like I’ve stepped into the reality of a fading dream of Porsche ownership and need to pinch myself as I work through the gears and hear the engine at 5-6k RPM roaring down the road. Thankful to begin this driving experience and to share it with so may others who understand here on Carpokes.

Wonderful start to your new world of Porsche! Was also thinking how great this is for your son - what great memories he will have and stories he can tell.

Glad you found the site. Welcome to Carpokes!

Actually, si vous me le permettez, there were 39 MOUSKETEERS on the original Walt Dizzy show of the 50s, plus three adult leader Mousketeers (but only one MOOSEKETEER)...but don't worry about my perceptions, despite my dyslexia! It is also thought that several of them later owned and drove Porsche 356s (including the Rodent himself!), given their celebrity status.

My name is Joe. I’m a dentist and live and work in the Silicon Valley.

My first Porsche was a 2008 Cayman S. Retired that car a few years ago. Earlier this year, I got the itch to buy a 911. I got a 2014 911 C2S Cab. Really enjoyed it, but I wanted a newer car with all the modern amenities. So, I bit the bullet and got a 2024 911 C2S Cab.

Thanks for having me here!
