Name: Henry
Location: Ventura County, California, USA
Current fun cars: 997.1 C2S, 981 Cayman S
Occupation: Physicist / mechanical engineer (mostly automotive, racing, and aerospace)
First Porsche: Almost got a 944 as my first car in high school, but I got a Honda CRX instead. My first taste of Porsche was a 987.1 Cayman S.
Was hooked on Porsche when: When, as a teenager, I got a poster of the new 993 Turbo from visiting the Long Beach Auto Show. I never thought I'd be able to own one or even two of them.
On my spare time I like to design fun car mods, mostly for Cayman models.

We have a legend among us ha! This is the guy who created the engine cover that me and a BUNCH of other 718ers installed recently. We are lucky to have him here.

Henry,
It’s great to have you here! You’re almost in my backyard - I live in Los Angeles but my wife’s sister and mother are in Ventura County. As a 718 owner, I’m looking forward to your next mod. Please let us know how we can help you.
Best,
Larry

G'day Henry! We probably have a few other Henrys in the club, so you may even be our Henry VIII, who knows? At any rate and all jokes aside ("joke amnesties" are usually only about 5 second long, around here!), it's excellent to have another Cayman man aboard! In my humble opinion, the Cayman is truly a spectacular Porsche design (always liked coupes, but this one is superb) and if I were financially able to, I'd have one hitched up in my stable. As a 914 fanatic, I appreciate and regard the Boxster/Cayman concept as a direct relative of my beloved 914s, and we should never, even forget that, despite the iconic image of the 911 genre as 'THE' Porsche, Herr Dr. ing. Professor Porsche's very first 356/1 was a mid-engine design and the succeeding 356/911 ilk (starting off as the 356/2 concept) was a fall-back drag-arser (albeit of the first water). CARPOKES is giving every evidence of being a great site for Porscheophiles of all types, so don't hesitate to give us the full benefit of your professional scientific expertise, here, participation-wise! Cheers! & Glückauf!

Hi
First Porsche: When I graduated from college traded in my BMW 1800 sedan for new a 1974 914 1.8 canary yellow, brown interior.
Fun cars to drive: We also I have 2015 Audi TFI (Diesel) we love the car and for a turbo diesel it has great acceleration. We also have a 2020 Macan S which we love as well.
In 1978 sold my 914 and bought from the original owner a 1974 911S Carrera which I still own. Just finished with the restoration, including engine rebuild, suspension updates rust repair etc. Car runs.
