Welcome Tom, we have a similar Porsche Garage with a Cayman GTS and a 2020 Macan S. I am sure there are folks who envy you since you spend your time in the Road America and Barber States! You can tell where my mind usually is and I will comment that many folks may not be aware of what a wonderful State Wisconsin is for great drives. My wife and I have spent numerous vacations there, from Bayfield to Road America, from Madison to Door County , and I know there are some great drives in Alabama too.

Welcome!

Yup. There are lots of great drives in WI. It’s was always a tough decision….do we take the Boxster or the Harley for the drive. We solved the problem of having to make a decision, we have moved the Boxster to Alabama permanently. So Wisconsin drives will be on the Harley. We recently drive the Boxster on the dragon….great fun. So much fun in fact we are meeting some Porsche friends for another ho at it in April.

We should all meet at Barber sometime!

Hopefully I'll have my 2025 DE spreadsheets ready by the end of January.

Shameless plug to another Carpokes site with the 2024 spreadsheets.......

Meeting at Barber sounds like a plan. Do you know if there are any PCA regional clubs in South Alabama like Mobile?

You can look up your region here:

Great idea and since Birmingham is closer to North Central Alabama it won't be quite as far for some as going all the way down South. The has to be some PCA events there since the Porsche Track Experience Birmingham is run , and I know NASA usually runs there in July ( count me out for that humid month ). For many a two day event with a group like Chin, NASA, etc. would be the most alluring , since driving to Alabama for one day is not too beneficial for many of us. I have a feeling there are more events there than we realize, but they may not be sanctioned with PCA.

Not to hijack , but another plan for 2025 is to have folks post when they are going to various track events, so we can get more Carpokeans to participate at said. It would be fun to meet some of the folks on this Forum in the flesh and what better way than at a track or autocross. I know one can find some great friends at the track and it is always great to have someone there you know to go to lunch or dinner with, hang out after an event , or even caravan to an event. Of course those of us "Ancient Racers " always like to go where there are younger Trackrats so we have someone to possibly change a tire or help out since many of us suffer with our arthritic limbs, ha. Requesting help can be a clever way to get them to work so much they are a bit tired , exhaustion putting their reflexes on par the normal state of ours, ha. Heh, age can also be a sign of wisdom and many of us still enjoy whipping up on those barely out of Puberty Porsche Pilots!
So do consider when you are going to an event in 2025, and you can post under your Region listed at the bottom of this Forum. I know I try to make sure the Great Plains Region of the PCA DE events are listed and so use your Region area to do that , but it might be nice to also post in a general area because I imagine there are some like myself who travel out of State to go to events. Just some thoughts, but hope to meet some of you next year on a road course or an autocross.
