Matt in Tallahassee Fl. I just saw the ad for this forum on Stuttgart market letter. What a great web place for a hopeful newbie Porshe owner like myself.
I’m not a Porsche owner yet but I’ve been obsessed with the 911 shape most of my waking and sleeping moments. Yes I do dream about the dang things. Any how,,,currently I’m saving $ to buy one but the many different choices are overwhelming to say the least.
Im happy to have feedback and info about the many questions I have about the different gens, motors, transmissions, paint to sample, backdating, magnesium case motors, light weight-insulated glass… You get the idea. I guess whichever spec or generation I finally decide on I will be happy with because it will be a lifetime achievement when it happens.
But that silhouettewow.
So, happy to register here and merry Christmas and happy Hanukah to all the Porsche people.

Merry Christmas to you as well, and thanks for joining our little corner of the internet! Small world, I went to a wedding a few years ago and stayed at a hotel at the Redmond town center. I was very surprised to have an impressive car show right outside my front door in the morning!RichJ wrote: Wed Dec 25, 2024 7:58 am Merry Christmas!

Thanks for joining and happy holidays to you as well. The late great Bruce Anderson used to always say to buy the newest 911 you can afford. That general advice still probably hold true -- if you plan to drive it regularly, each generation is better than the last on most objective and rational bases. That said, sometimes buying a porsche isn't about being objective or rational.Matterman wrote: Wed Dec 25, 2024 7:44 am Hello all.

I neglected to mention in my welcome post that I too have had several Corvettes over the years - C2 427 roadster, a couple of C6 coupes (Z51 & a Z06), and a C7 Grand Sport. All excellent sports cars.RichJ wrote: Wed Dec 25, 2024 7:58 am Merry Christmas!
