Hi, I have a 924 S from 1986 with no WATER PUMP GUIDE RAIL, can I still use this belt tensioner?

How old is that water pump? Do you know for sure your car does not have the rail? Porsche has called for the new style pump with rail on all 944 and 924S motors since its TBS in 1987, as the only approved replacement. There is an increased chance of timing belt failure without the rail. Timing belt tools aside, you'd be better off with the new style pump. Without the rail, I guess you could still use the tool and either mark or visualize where the rail should be, but that may introduce some inaccuracies if not done carefully.
