You can remove the tape that is currently on the mount and replace it. The molding tape is available on amazon and some auto parts stores. It's this 3M product:

https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40069527/

If your mount popped off on its own, would be worthwhile fixing the root cause of that first. The molding tape is generally permanent if all is working as designed. Assuming you put the mount on a smooth, wax-free surface (!), the only reason I've seen mounts come loose on their own is due to a warped/bent plate. Take the plate off and lay it on a flat table. If all four corners are not flat against the table, bend it as needed until perfectly flat. When the plate is warped, it acts like a lever on one or two corners, and will be constantly pulling on the mount. The molding tape is curious that way -- it will withstand extreme pulling all at once without giving way, but if the plate pulls on it gently for moths/years while driving and bouncing around, it will eventually pull it off. Kind of like the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon.

All NC plates come pre-twisted. I tried to flatten it as best I can but apparently not well enough.

Seriously? That's a bummer. Just something about the way they make them that results in a twist? If you simply can't get it flat, you could always put washers between the plate and mount on the 'high' corner/s.

Must be either the stamping or the handling but yes. I have it sitting under a 45lb bag of dog food to see if that does anything. If not, I'll try the washers.

Not sure how long it's been since you sent your email to Tom but give it a bit more time. If no response in the next day or so, try re-sending. It could have gotten misplaced.

Thanks Tim -- I must have missed all this, but just checked and did send a set of mounts to Yea Boi a few weeks ago, so all is well there. :)

Just did a set of custom mounts for @Crazy Eddie after a 90 miles mountain drive today. I know I keep raving about the new printer technology, but this would have been a pipe dream just a few years ago...

I am about to give up on mine and drill my bumper. One or two corners constantly come off. I have tried washers, additional layers of tape to add thickness, and may try 3M adhesive but don't want to mess up my paint. I hate to drill my bumper but at this point every time I drive I'm afraid that I am going to lose my plate.
