The Macan has been an amazing DD, the mods are just adding to it. I have a whole lot more coming up

Hello everyone,
New to this group. Have been a Porsche and VW fan for about 40 years now. Had 5 23 window buses when they were dirt cheap. Had a 57 speedster , a real one, paid 10K for it. had a 78SC, would like to have another one of those. Currently have a Macan S, 1979 Bus. 86 Vanagon with a 3.3L 260hp Subaru motor and a 1964 Ford Country Squire wagon.

Dream cars are Carrera GT, 918 Spyder, 575 6 speed Ferrari, 300 Gull Wing, 914-6, Mercedes 280 SL and the 992TS

Hope to meet a lot of car fans here .

Wow, that's quite a car-guy resume! Welcome aboard Carpokes! Any chance you know Richard Maxey -- he's a porsche and VW bus guy too. Re the 79 SC, that era 911 was really special. I had an '85 3.2 and sure with I never sold it....

Tom, I do not know that person. I am in Southern California.

Woah, those buses are some of my favorite vehicles ever! Those things are worth a fortune now. When I was a kid, my neighbor had a fistful of vintage Bugs and a bus or 2, and I always thought they were just the slickest vehicles around. Welcome, Ed!

New member here! I used to be active on rennlist, currently on some of the fb groups, and now looking forward to being on here. I’m a 944 guy, so I kept refreshing the home page until there were 943 registered members, then quickly registered to become the 944th member (thanks for the fb post that alerted me to the opportunity, Tom!).

My user name comes from my first 944 S, which caught fire as a result of fuel lines failing and spraying gasoline into the alternator. I managed to keep the carnage with a net zero cost after my deductible. The resulting part-out has paid for every new part on the car that replaced it, which earned the nickname “skidmark” because a deer jumped out in front of me and left a…brown skidmark…up the hood and windshield. That deer got me a good respray. I swear on all things Porsche that neither of those incidents were insurance fraud, although things somehow worked out for the better both times.

Incidents happen to all Porsche lovers too maybe more for those who tried to use them as a daily

The crazy thing is both incidents happened very soon after purchase! Lots of new parts (headlights included) and a fire extinguisher will hopefully prevent future issues…
