G2 and Michael Savoie, welcome and great stories from each of you. Surprisingly , Michael, here in Nebraska many put up their Porsches about the same amount of time. Now, my wife's Macan S is the exception as it is a trooper all through the Winter.
G2 -- keep flipping on your hi beams , as many of us do and here in the Midwest I often get a return flash, though there are plenty who drive with tunnel vision and would not notice regardless.

Welcome to CARPOKES G2! Thank you for joining and sharing your backstory. Kudos to your wife for encouraging you to get another Porsche. If you were in San DIego Region you probably hit Riverside, Laguna Seca, and Sears as well! I raced Holtville once to get my SCCA license. Glad you reached out to us.

Hi All,
New member from South East PA, but we split our time between SEPA and our cottage in the NY Finger Lakes (~30mins from Watkins Glen). I'm Josh... I'm 50, have an engineering background in product development and currently oversee our marketing and technical teams at the company I work for. I have a wonderful wife and three kids - the girls are 25 & 26 and my son is 19 and in college for Mech Engineering.
I've been a staunch BMW loyalist since 1997 when I got my first e36 and own 16 more since then. Some of the highlights include 2x e36 M3 verts, an e39 M5, an e36/7 z3 2.8, and my favorite of all of them my current 2011 135i vert with 146k miles. I also have a z4 HS on order that should arrive at Spartansburg in a month or so. I'm very pro manual transmission, and figured getting the last one BMW was going to make was a good idea. We also currently have an e91 3er wagon and a 2019 x5.
We got our first Porsche the Friday before the Monday COVID shutdown in March 2020. It's a 2017 991.2 base manual cab - GT Silver over Espresso Natural leather with a brown top. The purchase was perfect timing as we used it a ton for mobile quarantining with top down drives to no where. It's mechanically stock, but we enabled Android Auto, added an MA-1 wireless AA adapter, a Function First shift knob, Smart Top and T Design modules, the fancy Al look gas cap and Porsche Crest espresso center console lid to personalize it a bit. We participate in some of the local Riesentoter PCA activities (they're a really well run PCA chapter), local cars and coffees and enjoy the Porsche Corral at Watkins IMSA races
Looking forward to participating in the community and helping wherever I can.
Thanks for having me - Josh

Welcome Josh and what a great recipe to help overcome the Covid Blues , and driving topless through the Finger Lakes sounds fantastic as an additional antidote!

Howdy, I've been lurking since I met Tom in person at an event in the SF Bay Area summer 2024.
Been a gear head since 1999 and originally it was motorcycles and motorcycle track days. Eventually needed a car and bought a 1989 BMW 325i. Joined the BMW CCA and picked up the track bug for cars too. Had a 2002 WRX, a couple Mitsubishi Evos, and then a series of Honda S2000s.
Bought my first P-car in 2016 - a 2009 Cayman S in Carrara White. Discovered, to my dismay, that Porsches lived up to the hype
Sold it in 2021 after ~15% appreciation but regretted it <6mo later. Picked up a Toyota GR86 in 2023 and loved that too (mostly) but ended up selling it about 1 yr later.
By January 2024 realized the Cayman desire was too strong to ignore and found an almost new 2024 GTS 4.0 in VA and had it shipped out to CA. That's what I have now with no plan to sell anytime soon.
Aventurine Green with a Black/Chalk interior. OAPs (a must on these cars - transforms the sound) and upgraded speakers are the only major mods. That's my truck and trailer in the background. It houses a 2007 Honda S2000 racecar (not street legal) that I use to attend myriad track days and race with SCCA occasionally.
And then Toyota announced the beautiful green Hakone Edition of the GR86 and somehow one of those ended up in my garage in January.

Nice!! Thanks for the bio - love the track and car summary. We have a number of track-oriented enthusiasts here, so browse the site for info and data and experiences regarding same. The Racing and 718 sub-forums have a good bit of detail and info, including track-oriented mods and setups.
Welcome to Carpokes!
PS - great looking cars in your pics. I love the greens!
