Ordered my 718 with “rear badge delete.” Added “GTS” badge myself. Just wanted it cleaner…less alphabet soup.

Looks great. I wish I did this. How did you position the GTS emblem and what type of tape did you use to secure it? BTW, thanks for the contact information for the correct license month decal (red) for the historic plate. All the little things count.

I agree, that looks great. I did a quick search on fleabay and they have a GTS emblem for $15 in black that looks exactly like the Porsche one. I got "Porsche" in black for my Cayenne after the body shop had to remove the chrome Cayenne lettering for some, ahem, repairs and I think it looks really nice. I may have to order one of these and debadge my 718 to add just the GTS as you did.

On another active thread (linked below) I shared info on the best product (the only good one in my opinion) to use for attaching emblems. Tom loved it and found a fantastic video of it in use.Larry C wrote: Tue Dec 27, 2022 7:42 am Looks great. I wish I did this. I ordered an OEM “GTS” badge from Suncoast. Probably could’ve saved some money sourcing one from EBay or Etsy, but I wanted the correct Porsche badge.Larry C wrote: Tue Dec 27, 2022 7:42 am Looks great. I wish I did this. It comes with auto adhesive tape on it, so all I had to do was remove the backing and position the badge. Believe it or not, I just eyeballed it, but I knew where it was supposed to be.
Sometimes it’s best not to overthink these things. (Should be a life motto.

I totally agree on both of your last points!Leader wrote: Tue Dec 27, 2022 9:34 am I ordered an OEM “GTS” badge from Suncoast. Probably could’ve saved some money sourcing one from EBay or Etsy, but I wanted the correct Porsche badge.

edit: Having agreed with your points, I will add that crooked emblems would be horrendous for those who don't do a good job eyeballing!

The one I got from ebay had adhesive backing and also came with a template for spacing the Porsche letters, I measured to get it perfectly centered and level. The GTS badge should be much easier to eyeball. I'd probably still use a level and mark a straight line to put it on.

That's wise. I couldn't eyeball and get one letter straight, much less three. And don't mention whether it would be centered or not, 'cause it probably wouldn't be.Bill in Bama wrote: Tue Dec 27, 2022 10:39 am The one I got from ebay had adhesive backing and also came with a template for spacing the Porsche letters, I measured to get it perfectly centered and level. When I had my Audi RS3, I asked the dealer to change the rear emblem. They had a template and changed the emblem perfectly in 5 minutes. There was no charge. I’m sure the Porsche dealerships have similar templates.

I wouldn’t ask my Porsche dealer to do ANYTHING cosmetic to my car. In my experience, it’s just not something they are very good at, nor do they care much about it.
