As shown in post #3 of this thread you mean? Looks like a custom bracket extension? Hard to get my bearings on those pictures, but is that extension piece using the a/c compressor mount location, making it an a/c delete approach?

No, it uses the factory lower mount for the alternator. AC compressor mounts to the point just below. I have AC on my car. It also gives the ability to revert back to a factory alternator if so desired. It really is a simple solution, but all the credit goes to @chris white

Yep I saw. You didn't really give any details, just said it's a random Autozone part that you weren't sure what it was out of...

My response wasn't for you, it was for DGUN951. I'll be sure to tag them next time. Exact alternator being irrelevant to seeing if he was curious about different approaches.

Haven’t yet. Finally found a new CNC guy who’s sending me a test for my fuel fittingso I can see if his quality is good, have a couple CNC projects I need to get to

Nice. Is than an AN fitting for the gas tank for 044 and similar pumps. I'm in if so. Any way to build the little elbow pipe right into the outlet?

Yeah, it converts your tank to an AN fitting allowing the use of full AN lines, and modern filters/pumps. Did a group buy on them a year ago. Sold a bunch and I still have people wanting them so I’ll probably do another. For now the design will stay as is, maybe in the future I will add the bend

Beggars can’t be choosers…but are you still designing based on the Nissan alternator?

Considering how old that alternator is, the fact that it can’t be purchased new, and is getting hard to find quality remanufactured units, I’m not so sure it makes a lot of sense to stick with that one…

I don't know if this is still of interest but I went the route of fitting a Ford 3G alternator. There's a good overview on RL from user Bulvot that lays out most of what you need to make this work, though there are slight differences required for the smaller engine as compared to the 928, which is what he developed it for. I can give some details if folks are interested and I took some pictures of what I did, as there is some amount of building the connector that was required.

What's very nice is that there are a number of options for these Ford alternators at various price, and presumably quality, points.

Anyway, the case mates up very well to the standard bracket on the 968, which is where I installed it, though it does need a thick washer as a spacer, as laid out in the instructions.

I further believe that one could make a Ford 6G alternator work and those come in really high amperage versions but I don't have the funds to buy one as a test.

Full disclosure, I ran into other issues with getting that car running so it's still on the project list but the alternator fit was great in the standard spot.
