My lighter knob turned out Amazing!

I wish I would have taken a before pic but I got some during and after pix.

I wasn’t sure how these worked at first. I cut out one of the T’s in the word “T E S T” and got out a tweezers and a little bowl of warm water and began to soak it for 30 seconds. Pulled it out and tried to slide it off onto the knob and it would not move, so I soaked it for 30 more seconds with the same result…

Then I went back to Tom’s original post and saw the word “transfer” so then I put the T where I wanted it and rubbed the outside with a pencil and it came off the backing plastic and went perfectly onto my test piece.

Then I was ready for the real deal.

I opted for the rustoleum satin clear rattle can (like @Tom did) instead of the supplied bottle of satin clear to finish it off. I gave it a fairly heavy coat for the first pass. then did about 4 more coats backing the spray can a good foot or so away from the piece and that gave it a nice texture.

Judge for yourself:
This knob came to me from ebay and it looked like it was either brown or very, very worn. I spray painted it satin black. Then I sanded that down a little with the sandpaper supplied in the graphics kit before putting the transfer graphic on.
so it looks a little odd in this picture and then next. once the clear was put on it looked much better. The knob on the left is from my other car and was in almost perfect condition.
