It requires an addition piece of trim for the hazard/door lock switches. The GT4/Spyder selector is slightly shorted than the stock unit. These parts can be ordered by your local Porsche dealers parts dept via the following part numbers:

Selector Lever Black: 982-713-120-8YR
Trim Cover Plate: 991-553-651-01-A05
Awesome! I just ordered my GT4rs pdk shifter for my 718 yesterday!

Share any reflections on it? How does it feel/shift?

The GT4 RS shifter feels better, shifting feels crisper and the knob is lower. I can now rest my arm on the console cover with my hand on the shifter. It’s a triple win. Oh — and it looks much better than the OEM shifter.

I've just been on Sport Shifters and here is what I specked:

Cilinder Custom shift knob
Fitment: Porsche 991/981/992/982/718
2. Color & finish Top Coin: Black - Brushed
3. Color & Finish Rod: Black - Brushed
4. Custom engraving: None
5. Upholstery: Alcantara Black (9040)
6. Shift pattern: No engraving
7. Color shift pattern: Silver (machined metal/non-painted)
8. Additional front stitching: Red
9. Weight: Heavy (400-500 grams) Gran Turismo

I did advise them since I didn't spec a shift pattern (#6) I don't require a color shift pattern (#7). Also do folks here think the weight is TOO heavy??? BTW, this is for a 2016 GT4.

I also have a sportshifter knob and really like it. I ordered the most heavy option but the parts are configurable when you get it. I tried it several ways but the lowest height and medium weight was what I ended up liking best.

On this topic, I got a hands on look at these custom PDK knobs from Euro Impulse as an alternative to the Porsche ones. They are also customizable and manual knobs available too! I absolutely love the one I put in my car (the one in the video thumbnail). They offered to do a giveaway of two knobs so if you like it you should comment to enter to win one. You will be one of probably 100 so good chance of winning.

Would you mind posting a picture of the GT4 RS PDK shifter?

Replaced the OEM knob in our BGTS with the PDK Sport Knob & boot (same as the GT4RS version) sold by Suncoast. Very pleased with the looks, especially the addition of a boot, which is a real bonus. Full disclosure, Suncoast has no option for a boot in Graphite Blue leather with Racing Yellow stitching. Thus, I had EdguardUSA custom fabricate a GB leather boot with Yellow stitching, along with the GTS stitching, to match the rest of our interior.

Shifts the same as OEM.

Itching to update the shifter too, but seems like the boot red stitch options from various vendors is always guards/carmine red. Our Spyder came specced to bordeaux red stitching so the brighter red would probably be noticeable. That and the yellow font of RS shifter is holding me back.
