Tom - yes, I am grateful you posted this safety issue. I have a newer BMW X2 with recall on the brakes, BMW never mentioned it to me. BMW did a R&R and called a serve vs. a recall. That was the last time I used the particular dealer.

My new to me 23 992 tts had it as well, sales guy said it was common, I pushed and they replaced it.

Porsche of Newport Beach gave me a new windshield under “good will” - I was treated great. I had to pick up 10% of the cost which was about $300.

I know somebody locally who had theirs replaced twice but Porsche took care of everything both times.
