I'll admit I'm a RL refugee, been beaten up a couple of times over there, but not new to Porsches.

Bill Mitchell (no, not the famous General, or even the semi-famous Porsche mechanic in Birmingham).

Fort Payne, AL

Retired long ago from the oil business but still have a hobby biz on the side, gun dealer.

First sports car was the 1970 Datsun 240Z, wanted a Porsche from high school but no $$.

First Porsche was a factory ordered 944 in Dark blue, '83 model. Then a '86 944T, really sweet car.

Then I strayed due to family constraints, bigger back seats, etc.
After an Acura, two Taurus SHO's, a Mercury's XR4Ti, and a forgotten mistake I entered the BMW kingdom with a 540i/6, then some M3's and E30 track cars.

I finally returned to the Porsche fold in '09 with a '06 987 Cayman S, then a '16 Cayman GTS, and now my '21 718 GTS 4.0.

I do almost all my own service work, now have a MaxJax to aid my old body in that respect. Looking forward to learning a few things and maybe help someone else with my years of experience making mistakes.
'21 718 GTS 4.0, AGM/Espresso/ Cognac
'17 Cayenne base, White/Luxor/Black
'16 Cayman GTS, great car, sold for the 4.0
'13 Cayenne base, DBM/Luxor beige
'06 Cayman S, first mid-engine car
'86 944 Turbo, fast! Stone grey
'84 944, my first Porsche DBM

Howdy kids, I'm Ed.

Been a car guy / automobilist almost all my life. Got my first car when I was 3, a 1940 Pontiac from my grandmother.

Since then, I learned to drive in my 1952 MG TD, which I still own and drive. Have had a nice variety of cars, motorcycles, boats, RV's, etc. No airplanes, but I did spend a big chunk of adult life as an airline pilot. Retired early, and started a company, which has turned out to be pretty good.

My first Porsche was a 1988 944S. Nice, but really low on torque which made around town driving kind of a pain.
Next Porsche was a 2002 911. Really fun, had a 2005 factory new motor because the first motor had a porous block, causing failure... The goofy headlights always bothered me, so I now have a 2013 Carrera. This one has the magic PDK gearbox. To me, it's far superior to a manual, though I totally get the "save the manuals" bit.

I also have a few other fun cars, including a '73 Mercedes SL, and of course my MG TD. Recently sold my Aston Martin DB7. It was fun, and good for the ego, but fairly troublesome. Also recently gone are our vintage race cars: '69 Beach Formula V, '71 Triumph GT6 & '64 Triumph Spitfire. Good times at the track with those babies...

I enjoy long romantic walks to the kegerator, wrenching on the cars, salmon fishing, and endlessly searching for car deals...

Hi all,

I just received my 992 the other day. Agate with black int and black spyder wheels. Having the car PPF and ceramic later this week. I bought a 991.2 last year and after having it 8 months and 5500 miles, I traded it back to dealer and ordered the 992. (only traded because market is so crazy and got full price back) Took 6 months to get so not too bad.

In 1984, I purchased my first Porsche. A Guards Red 944. I had it 2 weeks and someone blew a stop sign and car was totaled. For the next 30 plus years I went thru Acura, BMW etc. Now I am back where I belong. Love love this car. Originally from Brooklyn NY and now in sunny Florida on the west coast.

Hi, all!
Happy to find this. Car nut for as long as I can remember. I’m a real estate broker in Pawleys Island, SC.
First P car was an ‘84 944 way back in ‘85. Quite a few different models since, along with many other makes, but Porsche is where my heart lies.
Current roster is a 991.2 C4S, a couple MBs, a Bimmer, a Suburban and an old prancing horse I’ve had in the stable for 30 years. She doesn’t get ridden much.
Always looking and, much to my wife’s chagrin, I’m bad about bringing home strays unannounced.
Looking forward to interacting with everyone!

As my login implies my first Porsche was a 2015 Dark Blue Metallic Macan S. After purchasing the car I joined PCA and met a lot of wonderful people. I'm a bit of a track junkie and after driving a Porsche there was no going back. I'm looking forward to taking delivery soon of a 25th Anniversary Boxster.

2015 Macan S Dark Blue Metallic (the grocery hauler and dog transporter)
2016 911 Carerra GTS Carmine Red (the beauty queen)
2018 911 Carerra T White (the track car)
2022 Boxster 25 Red over GT Silver (the open-air cruiser)
