The new 992 GT3 RS, I hope theyβll revise the rear wing as it looks silly so high up
I understand the concept about downforce but that wing is insanely high, almost looks higher that the roofHawk wrote: Fri Apr 15, 2022 3:41 pm Don't know if it's the active aero that requires the height? When you get on the brakes the upper part of the wing extends up as an aero brake / more downforce and it gets even taller.
I agree it is tall. In a few videos I have watched it does not appear to be quite as high as depicted in this particular pic. The camera angle may exaggerate it, but, whatever angle it is viewed from it is high. No question about it. I'm waiting to see it in person before making a decision on getting one. May just decide to keep my manual GT3.Acropora wrote: Fri Apr 15, 2022 3:42 pmI understand the concept about downforce but that wing is insanely high, almost looks higher that the roofHawk wrote: Fri Apr 15, 2022 3:41 pm Don't know if it's the active aero that requires the height? From what I hear deliveries will be late 2024 to early 2025Hawk wrote: Fri Apr 15, 2022 3:49 pmI agree it is tall. From what I've read the struts, end plates, and deck lid itself have camo covering. The struts are supposedly much sleeker looking, and not one solid piece, within that covering. But, nonetheless, the wing is not any shorter.
IMO that is an accurate assessment. However, I do believe it will look better without all the camo.audi4t wrote: Sat Apr 16, 2022 7:35 am Guessing this is one case of function over form.
I would imagine a significant number of buyers of this car are looking for optimum performance not how pretty it looks.
