Here in South East Tennessee my local station has a 87, 89 and 93 ethanol free pump. I've filled my 944 with nothing but their 87. If I get stuck were I need to get E gas I'd grab 89. Just to be safe.
That said, I have debated E85 setups for a long time in my other turbo car. Even ran a tank once for funzies in my current setup and just limited boost and added 30 ish % fuel across the map. None of the lines or seals were bought as ethanol safe at the time, but everything lived.. so far.
Now that E85 is locally available I will definitely be installing larger injectors ethanol % sensor and heading to the dyno soon. Because racecar, right?
