I just got a message from #1 dealer, and they need to see me. They said not today as it's the last day of the month (the last day of the month is busy for sales as they close out the bonus pool). I'll get by the next day as something good has changed (bad news is never communicated in person). :geek:

The message said something about my Turbo order or something else I may like. I'll bring a deposit check.

I apologize for the extra posts, but this is a Porsche message forum?

No apologies needed. This is indeed a Porshe forum, and hearing about other's experiences trying to buy a new one is right down the middle of the fairway here. :)

Hey Tom.
I'll make some pictures in the biggest dealer in the SE (second is Jacksonville Porshe, which was known as Brumos Porsche).

I like supporting them as they support many older weekend events with the older cars (they move cars around to focus on the 356 and the older the older air-cooled cars for a weekend event)

They also have a bunch of newer water cooled cars going out the door (we have lower taxes on buying and owning) the best cars ever made.

My tag registration tax is $21 per year. An early 356 or a new GT3 is the same tax.

I think I got my 2023 Porsche Turbo settled with Code PPY4SF12. The arrival is ~4 months.

It's Agate Gray with the Burgandy interior (a first for me that wasn't black interior). It has the lowering package with the front axle lift (my current 2020 drags at the end of my downhill driveway). I got the 14-way adjustable seats w/o the LW package.

I have my allocation with a 30-45 day opportunity to change options.

I am also reserving my next allocation for a gas car--just not excited about a $200K electric car--JMO

My salesman and best Porsche guy called me today.

I changed my code to get three free options (steering wheel, cooled seats, and a wheel option). I added the side mirror alert option (I thought it was included).

He suggested the sliding roof. No, I've used it 4 times in 8 years in a Porsche 911. It's too hot and/or humid here to spend $3200 for something that I don't need. Plus, it's all that extra weight up high.

It's still due this November. I am excited to get it.

Post your new code if you have it so we can oogle over it. :) I hear you 100% on the sunroof. I got the metal sliding roof because I didn't want a white car with the dark glass top, but I rarely open it honestly. I assume your chassis will be stronger too with a fixed roof, akin to the days of old with 'sunroof delete' cars. Fingers crossed for November. When I got my 991 Turbo S, it arrived at the dealer late Wednesday afternoon, the day before Thanksgiving, so it sat there in the showroom all locked up until I could get it the next day.

Tom,
He didn't send me the new code today. Tomorrow is his day-off. According to him, I have 4-6 weeks to modify it as of today.

I am still a little nervous about the reddish interior after 30+ years of black interior. I'll forward the code as soon as I get it.

Heck, they want my 6K mile 2020 Carrera 2. I'd like to keep it. He said the same deal below MSRP deal either way.

I'd like to keep it or as a way to trade into maybe a 991.1 GT3? No cash flow issues for me.

Many thanks for your support,
Doc

I just mixed a strong drink to celebrate my great day.

I think you and others are correct.

I first realized that 2023 prices are higher than 2022 prices after reviewing the paperwork. They got my interior color wrong. They left off the front axle lift (code 2U4--$2770). My three previous 911's slightly dragged when exiting my down sloping driveway.

I am still confused about the seats. I want the 18-way soft 'sofa' seats ;) . This car is $200K so not a race car for me. You younger dudes can handle the stiff racing seats (they look great).

I am on PPYHSF12 as they have me at PPMCXZ43. It's a cash deal (I've never financed a car). I am a CFA, and we never recommend it.

Are those Porsche build codes? I can't get either of them to work... I have the 18-ways. At least for the '21 Turbo S they were no cost options. The buckets look cool and I'm sure are great on the track, but getting in and out of them, let alone fitting comfortably in them, make them a non-starter for me. I also got the axle lift and have found it pretty useful. I'm sure I could get by without it, but I use it pretty often and the gps system automatically lifts the front (if you let it) when you get to locations where you've raised the front previously (like your own driveway, etc.).
