I've been registered for a year, but it looks like I haven't posted, so the download link isn't available. Car's currently out for paint and we had the belts replaced a couple years ago so the need isn't immediate. BUT... I still have the timing chain tensioning tools for a Jag that I sold thirty-five years ago so this tool obviously deserves space in the toolbox. Let's see if this counts as the required post. (OP, thanks for the effort. I look forward to trying it out.)

Yes, this should count as a post. :) If for any reason, it says you still need to post, try logging out and logging back in to make sure you post-count has registered in the system.

It did. I downloaded the file and sent it off to a friend with a printer. Thanks for the reply, Tom.

Make sure he sees the 100% infill requirement and be sure to add the screws!! Very much looking forward to hearing back from people after they try it!

Curious to try this out. I imagine it will work with late 944 Turbo?

This is awesome! So glad to see more and more stuff being 3D printed these days, whether it's reproduction parts or tools.

Great job!

Great share. Do you think it would print in metal at a service bureau? I'll try my 3D printer first, but inquiring minds want to know.

I'm sure it would, but might be cost prohibitive. I'm working on printing it in carbon fiber Nylon filament, which is pretty darn strong. There is also a super strong resin I could try on the Formlabs printer, but I've resisted the urge to do that since I wanted something a lot of people can print on typical FDM home printers.

If you keep it to 7 ft. lbs. AND install the 6 screws, the ABS version holds up pretty well -- I tensioned the belts at least a dozen times with the one in the video. Eventually, the socket port is likely to round out, but it was intended for occassional home use, not a busy shop that needs to use it all the time.
