Floor is real similar to mine… wait until you drop something small on it… you’ll be on all 4’s, face flat on the floor with light trying to find it

As have I and everyone else with "flaky" floors!

But I love mine - the material is awesome.
Interestingly, while the "on all fours with a flashlight held horizontally (parallel) near the floor" is something I have also had to do on occasion, certain things can be spotted easily from a distance. Dog hair in small amounts of wisps is one such item. Bugs too, even small ones. It's odd but I think it must have a lot to do with the shape. The flakes are of a fairly consistent size and shape, so it seems to me items that vary from that or are a bit more dimensional tend to stand out, even if similarly colored (such as the black dog hair against the Desert Storm flakes which are light beiges, browns and blacks).
But drop something small and clear? Good luck! There are other items that will hide perfectly in the camouflage. (Actually, I think they disappear - the floor swallows them up.) Anyway, the hunt is good exercise...

My much-better-half never said anything about bugs and such with the original floor. Now I get the bugs and worms pointed out to me. What I get for marrying an ex-QC manager. Funny....

I can relate to the QC - it's part of my DNA. Tell your better half I said "good for her and good going"!

I end up doing the flashlight thing but shine it horizontally across the floor, looking for a shadow or reflection from whatever it is I dropped. For some projects, I add a piece of indoor-outdoor carpet mat under the car to catch falling bits that would otherwise go sproing on the hard floor and end up in the nether regions of the workbay.

You are so correct. I had to edit my earlier post above to say horizontally to the floor, not vertically!
(Must have been something in the air that temporarily disrupted my thought processes, such as they are.

I was thinking a few times doing something with the floor in my shop. And since I do work all the time, including welding and grinding I decided the concrete is fine at this time, LOL.
I added some deco to the wall.
Cheers

Quick update and vent. I bought NewAge cabinets. Price and details looked right. But this company has issues with English as a second or third language, or Canadian English, or Indian English. Apparently delivered and shipped mean the same thing. Now two weeks "late", depending on what version/country of origin english is being used. Then to make things even more fun for me, they shipped the cabinets using Yellow freight. Good thing the cabinets weren't mission critical. They have been near Tampa since Tuesday. When I call they don't have a clue when they can drive them across the state. Look for the union label and dumbass management. Given a choice, I won't use either of these companies again.
