I got new tires for my track wheels, 255/35/19 and 295/35/19 Bridgestone 71RS. The old Cup2s I had were old, worn and slippery. Not sure of they timed out, heat cycled out or just cup2s are not good near the end of life. I decided it was not worth trying to get more days out of them since I have two days planned the first week of November at possibly the best track in Arizona.

In case you need to know this in the future, E18 fasteners can be done with a 15mm 12pt box end and E24 can be done with a 19mm 12pt box end wrench. The engine to trans and the transmission mounts use the E-Torx and though I do have two socket sets of them a few places really need a wrench as there is no room for a socket and they are hard to find locally when you need them.
Great job forging new ground in the GTS while also getting everything back together. Nice!

The RE-71RS idea for tires is intriguing, so I decided to look at pricing and other info. However, per Tire rack's website, Bridgestone doesn't make them in 265/35-19 (what I'm currently using for front) but I could go to 255/35.

Worse for me though is that for the rears, Tire Rack doesn't list a 295 for 19" wheels - 285 is the widest they show in the available size chart. They have a 295/35 in 18". Where did you find your 71RS 295/35-19's?

Camber is set at 2.3 front and 2.0 rear. Yes standard suspension short of Tarett front camber plates.

I actually made a mistake above on the rear tire size above, they are 255/35 and 285/35 19 on my track wheels. On my stock wheels I have 245/35 and 295/30 20s, the GT4 fitment.

The front 255s fit fine, I am considering trying a 10mm spacer up front. I do run a 10mm front spacer on my stock wheels sometimes.

I agree that 255 285 is not the most aggressive compared to the common track set up of 265 295/305 but that is okay. In the end this is really just a street car. The 255 285 combo is said to have a great balance and the car rotates nicely however I can't yet confirm.

Cleaned bits of Laguna Seca's parking lot out of the floor well and the under tray. My garage floor reminds me of Pebble Beach.

I drove to the Smokey Mountains. Drove the Weyah road, Tail of the Dragon, the Cherohala Skyway, and some very good roads until I started to approach the northern approaches to Atlanta.

Fantastic!

What a great scenic picture - so inviting. I love forests and hills and scenic, twisting roads. (And red Porsches in the Mise-en-scène!)

Somewhere back in the woods a bit - quiet and peaceful. (We could all probably do with a bit of that...)

Rumor is they are doing well with this tire and are expanding, 305/30 19 RE-71RS are coming in 1st qtr 2024.

If that happens, I may want to give them a try. Thanks for the heads up - I'll keep my eyes open but please remind me (all of us!) if/when it becomes a reality.
