I think any Satin Black rattle can paint should be fine. I used the leftover vinyl tonight and it was a pain in the butt since i painted the edges first (with a tiny brush) and then the vinyl but I had to trim it while on the plugs, which took off most of the paint! I touched them up tonight but if I had to do it over I would spray paint them since it will be close enough to the surrounding area where it will not be noticeable from a few feet away...anything is better than the unplugged holes!
Yours were the fist I sent Bob, before I thought to blast them. I bet with the right grain of blast media and thin black paint, you could get pretty close to the surrounding texture. I could try to blast in more of a texture if you want to experiment... With the blasted ones, I bet a quick spray of satin black paint is all you'd need. Eastwood even sells a catalyzed satin black, in a can, if you wanted all the chemical and UV resistance of real automotive paint.

Sound like folks are happy with the fit/shape, so I'll go ahead and get the black ones ordered -- should get them in a week or two, and will post here when ready.
Hello Tom.

I have been for a couple of black kits but I will keep with just a pair of black ones.

Not sure if i will use them all the time so just take one pair out of the next order.

I m gonna be happy with just a pair and see what is going to happen with myself.

Tnx

Just to make sure I understand correctly, I think you are saying you want 1 black set, not 2 sets. Right? The good news is that it looks like I can ship to Italy with regular first class stamps, which should save $40 or more in shipping! Appreciate you telling me now. One less set won't affect how many I order, but if any others intend to get fewer than they've signed-up for, please speak up now!

Thanks for taking the time to bead blast. I agree that it should be a pretty good match to the surroundings.

I was powder coating a part today in satin black, so thought I'd see how these covers looked in that finish after a heavy blast. I used a couple of covers that were a pretty dinged up, so as not to waste good ones, but I have to say they look pretty good. I may send these to Bob to see what he thinks...

Received Tom’s raw aluminum Spyder Hole Covers. Took about 1 week from the West Coast to Hawai’i.

Looks good! The striations are from the LED lighting.
