This is Andial's final iteration of the 944GTR engine. "Much improved" per Alwin Springer who said Porsche sent a raw cylinder head casting which allowed Andial to finish the ports and combustion chambers, then do the machine work themselves. It's being prepared for the dyno with modern MoTeC to get away from from the (ancient) 1984/5 very early generation Motronic ECU. Dyno results to be shared once available. The 59 car has nothing to do with this project, only happened to be in the background.

That motor went through a ton of evolution from its early days. Very much looking forward to your dyno results! From the look of that flywheel, it looks like that motors seen some track time!

Actually, this engine is a crated spare that came with GTR #7. It's all fresh from Andial's dyno. Yes, the flywheel has been run, but apparently deemed usable on the spare engine. The engine that came in the car is represented to be the same generation, but it has no data on total hours, maintenance and such, and has been run by both Electrodyne and a subsequent owner over the years. That "old" engine did run at Rennsport this year and finished among the 935's at Laguna.

Distributor cap on the rear, ITB's and lots of other cool stuff we cannot see. More pictures please! Custom grind cam I am sure.

Current state of affairs: replacing the turn signal lenses and side markers with clear ones. The turn signal housings we sort of falling apart. Passenger side had some pancaked rubber well nuts and the driver side still had the stock posts. Replaced all mounts with new rubber well nuts. Also trying to get the passenger fender, hood and headlight to line up better. You can see how close the headlight is to the fender and it dips down so it sits below the hood in the back. Need to try and raise fender and headlight up about a 1/4”. Any tips?
